Only because the powers that be haven't yet realised how fundamental Greggs is to the British Way of Life - along London Road amongst other places. Let us pray that they never catch sight of the all important thread on these forums ...

Greggs escaped this time!

I went into our local Tesco today, first time in ages ( shunned only because it`s a simpler route for me to Aldi & Lidl, and I use Asda because our cat is hooked on their own brand catfood)

There was no sign of any slowing down in business - in fact, they`ve added a mezzanine floor and a couple of sloping escalators. I was almost impressed!

Yes True... but it also demostrates the different attitude we have when it is not assoicated to Islamic extermism.
I think for instance people were a lot less scared about the IRA bombs. There are not many times in our history when we haven't face some kind of threat like this.

Nope, the point is more that paranoid over-reactions serve no one but the terrorist/extortionist.

It was Bomb threats
Tesco could not be sure.
They lost big money for those stores closed.

The Big Problem
is Tesco will not talk about the Notes they got,
and a TV station got,
They just say it is a Police Matter now.
All Ex-Employed staff are listed for Police.

I reckon it`s not the usual sort of terrorist threat, but naturally we`d jump to conclusions and think it was. Nothing`s been actually found yet? No explosions? And the police are dealing with it with their centre of enquiry where Tesco head office is.?
Sounds more like someone with a loony grudge against Tesco.

If a bomb threat isn't extermism then what is? This is just a bit of TESCO's PR spin to make it seem that there isn't a risk to consumers.

Exactly Fluffy ... jumping on the bandwagon.

Police have launched a criminal investigation but say they do not believe there is a link to extremism.

One line of inquiry is of a possible financial motive behind the threats.

Hertfordshire Police, which is leading the investigation, said the stores were closed as a precaution and no-one had been hurt.
