Now I have no objections to a mono rail along the seafront but would like it to go inland at certain points.
And what about those 6000 homes at Shoreham airport, where did they come from, when the Council leased the land there was no housing proposed?

Exactly. Who'd deal with a company that can't even keep their own domain name?

If this is representative of the compnay - they'd appear to be less than professional. I don't think this particular idea will go far with this company behind the project.

Although, that said, B&HCC jumped into bed with Karis so I suppose anything is possible?

In principle, the idea is good. All it needs is the local authority to embrace it but it seems they cannot see further than the bus.

This seems to be the person whose bankruptcy is announced on page 31 of today's Argus. Perhaps Mrs Poppadum could investigate.

Of course
the Massive Funding is the One and Only Issue.

As per usual, this idea has all gone quiet again. It pops up every year or so and then slumbers.

Yes a system which is at least partially underground, that is best - and there should be EC money for that?

Can the geology cope?

'sake. No more buses - this is old technology. Everythings moved on. Buses are inferior to monorails / metro systems on so many levels.

The monorail needs to go from Newhaven to Shoreham and have park & ride sites at key interchanges. Another on a north / south route with a big park & ride at Braypool and central terminus under the Old Steine. Sorted. Job done.

No more bus talk nonsense, especially if they are being touted as 'rapid transport systems'. Yet again, as with the Lewes Rd thread, Brighton & Hove spin second (third?) rate b@llocks as if its cutting edge and state-of-the-art.

Those who have travelled on modern metro systems would laugh in the face of a network based on buses. How very quaint.

Yes, the idea of people going to and fro along the front is a fantasy. Most people live many streets, or more, inland. They will not walk down to the front to get on a monorail, then get off and have to walk many streets inland.

A network of buses is needed that miss Western Road/Churchill Square but take such routes as the number 7 does, linking up areas.

I think it wold be a great idea which needs to reach all parts of Brighton & Hove. Plus other areas.

Just a tad unpracticle though.

Brian Oxley's espousing of the monorail must be taken as a tacit acceptance of the King Alfred.

It's another of those copy-out-the-press-release stories.

And they wonder why newspaper sales are going down...

They should be out on the trail of stories, not sat behind a screen waiting for stories to come to them.

It can never go inland.

In any case this is Just talk,
No Funding for this Billion Pound Idea.

Building New Homes is the only Deal on the table now.

Life In The City.

It would be good if the Volks railway could be connected to the mono rail to provide intergrated transport.
