I am obviously spoiled. There are regular occasions when I need photocopy, say 30 - 100 copies of A4. Spending half my time in The East End, there is this marvellous little computer shop in Bethnal Green Road, four photocopy machines and provided the customer spends a minimum of 20p, the copies are 2p each! And it's top quality copies.
Down here in Brighton I've sometimes found a 3p offer (where the machine was poor and the shop owner seemed never to have heard of toner), rarely 5p, most commonly 10p or even more.
When going to London anyway, that's not a problem. But it's pain, like right now, when I need about thirty copies to dish out to a Tribunal panel, but 60p out of the standard pension (which is what we live on these days) is rather to be preferred than £3.00. Especially as it happens most weeks .....
Is there somewhere more reasonable I have missed? |

I was more thinking about travel locally Anubis ... which would make a difference to costing depending on how many you were thinking of photo-copying |

Thank you, you three. Yes, Miriam, I suppose I should have thought of looking at the Epson costings!? Of course, silly I may be, but I'd hardly buy a ticket to London JUST to copy a few dozen pages ..... I had just hoped somewhere in Brighton there might have been a 2p source I didn't know about. Yes, resource centre is best ...... I'm grateful. |

I agree Daveb ... the best bet for runs like 30 - 100 copies is the resource centre. |

I would stick with a photocopier for larger quantities.
You get the paper with that as well.
It also saves wear & tear on your printer. |

Another thing you will have to take into consideration when costing out a job is the time and travel costs to get them photocopied. |

Yes, we have a printer attached to the computer and it works perfectly, but I have always assumed it is MUCH MORE expensive than a photocopier (especially at 2p). I would NOT be using colour .... and have (obviously) never "costed it out" ... it's an EPSON printer, in very good order. So what do you reckon it should work out per sheet of A4? Your informed "guesses" would be valued. Thanks! |

Anubis ... if you haven't a photocopier at home and your printer does not have a photocopy facility you could try going to the resource centre:

much better.
Of course
a Printer in your home
if its a
all in one unit (costing just £50 at most places)
can Photocopy just as well.
Making sure you have spare Ink refills, of course. |
