A protester who dared to express their distaste of the Iraq war outside the houses of parilment has been sent to jail for 14 days.

A new low for British democracy.

Why would you think that you have the right to protest? If people wanted to protest that the war in iraq was a just and correct thing to do will you fight for their rights as well, or do protest rights depend on the protesters agreeing with your views.....

We do not live a democracy. The government may be elected but as we have said before the government actually receive less than half the votes cast, usually about 38%.

They are generally elected on lies and then ignore the voters for four years.

No we do not live in a democracy you are right, but if the politicans keep telling us this is a democracy then we have every right to demand the liberties that go with the ideal.

Seems to me as if he was deliberately provoking this situation. There have been other people who have protested and some still do ... long term.
