Does anybody know what happened to that plan, trumpeted on the front of the Argus, for Wi-Fi everywhere?

This piece suggests it might all go belly-up. Again.

Don't think so.
Have they got the funding yet?

Have you got your access set to [All Categories you have access to] on the "Group Category Menu"?

Nothing earthshattering as such but who knows ....

Why can't I see those threads (Friday and the 3 - 5:30 lull... board) I can only see the local and national news threads?
Miriam Binder Posted - 28/09/2007 : 10:13:18
HA! Know exactly what you mean flaming ... I think there already is one though: The letting off steam thread on the Friday and the 3 - 5:30 lull... board

Oh what fun when we can sit on the beach and surf the net. Cor blimey - i despair sometimes. I think its time to start a 'what makes me grumpy' thread.
Miriam Binder Posted - 28/09/2007 : 08:40:23
Is it not supposed to gradually be deployed over the rest of the city?
fartin1976 Posted - 28/09/2007 : 08:30:04
Where I now live as free wi-fi throughtout the city centre but alas I'm one road too far away.

Loose Connection are quite good - their wifi is quite fast and reliable, plus it's installed in some (mostly) quite good pubs:

I think you're right about security. I'm very wary about what I input by way of passwords etc. as you really don't know whether someone's put some sort of sniffer (or whatever they're called) on their network upstairs.
