here The idiots just don't get it do they? I saw the show courtesy of a couple of dear friends. It seemed to me that it was more a parody on the current television audience and their deification of certain 'chat-show' hosts and hostesses who seem to glory in bringing all the most mean spirited tendencies out in their 'guests' for the titillation of their audience then a parody on the Christian faith.
Well, apparently the judges have heard all the various arguments and we should get a written decision by the judges in a while ... whatever that while may be. All to see whether this religious nut-case can bring a private prosecution of blasphemy against the BBC. One very sensible district judge had already ruled that Stephen Green (Christian Voice) could not. |

Posted - 06/12/2007 : 00:43:05 Again, thanks, Tombstone. I don`t like the `air your dirty laundry on telly` shows, but equally I don`t like religious extremists of any persuasion (nor political ones either, come to that!) and they do their causes no good at all with their rantings. The BBC aren`t completely daft, either. It seems like another `Life of Brian` situation, to me, but if the Beeb are going to televise it I`ll maybe watch it, if only because we`ve discussed it here, and I hate not knowing what I`m blethering about!

On econd thoughts ... that was a wee bit mean-spirited and ... to tell you the truth, I cannot stand those types of shows however ... Well done judges. A common sense decision! |
