Posted - 30/12/2007 : 12:28:00 The Conservatives were all set to pass this but now realise that it would cost them crucial votes in the General Election. So there are moves afoot to replace Brian Oxley as Leader. |

Posted - 30/12/2007 : 12:18:18 A new planning application is in - not vastly different from the previous one that Taylor-Wimpey withdrew, but objections have to be in over Christmas and New Year. How convenient for residents.
Interesting to see in Argus reports that Mr. Roger Amerena of the Montpelier and Clifton Hill conservation group so concerned that the main building be preserved. It seems he's changed his tune in recent years. He was all for demolition before ... what a fine conservationist! |

Posted - 03/10/2007 : 12:04:25 Looks as if these plans have been withdrawn. They have to design a better one. |

Posted - 20/08/2007 : 11:29:17 Good letter here. The subject of Dyke Road is hotting up. All eyes on the Greens!
Looks as if this one will be thrown out, thank goodness.

No surprise that Paul Elgood is getting in on this one.
Again he does not make it clear that there are no LibDems on the Planning Committee, so he commands no clout on the matter whatsoever.
LibDems coud not plan a piss up in a brewery, so good. |

Posted - 12/08/2007 : 17:43:47 Vermin? I daresay ... shame that his bid wasn't accepted as he showed an awareness of the value of preserving the facade. |

Posted - 12/08/2007 : 17:28:45 I recall that Vermin put in an unsuccessful bid to buy the site and convert the existing building into flats.
I wonder if he's still around?

Posted - 12/08/2007 : 15:55:11 They should have let someone who was going to preserve that building, at least the outside facade of it, have it. It was a case where money wasn't everything. |
