Makes you wonder. What are they afraid of people seeing? I've never been a big fan of pointless demos, but if a film is made about it, then those who want to watch it should be able to.

They do not make weapons at this factory.
The next time this bunch of glue themselves to anything they should be ignored and left to rot.

On the whole Smash EDO are a bunch of idiots(being polite), employed (unlikely) or not.

Careful No Expert you might encourage people to participate if they know how much it winds you up.
No Expert Posted - 18/03/2008 : 15:22:52
I didn't mean to say that everyone who has ever been on a smash edo protest is unemployed, I meant to say they're all cunts.

Please accept my apology.

Yep everyone who has ever been on a smash edo protest is unemployed, they are also drunks and frequent drug users.

This anti-war sentiment is obviously a load of nonsense and what arises from a lack of a proper protestant work ethic.

I wasn't going to bring those tactics up but seeing as you have mentioned it No Expert ... yes, and among the less savoury tactics was the way they tried attacking the workers at the factory.
No Expert Posted - 18/03/2008 : 13:42:01
IMHO the edo protesters have always acted like bullies and bell ends and have done their case more harm than good.

They are protesters of course they have a bias. I hardly think someone who saw both sides of the picture is likely to be inspired to go out and campaign about something that might or might not have been a good or bad thing.

The police don't like the anti-war lobby as the anti-war lobby cause them a major headache.

Maybe the film has a very slight political bias. It is possible that it may even not portray the truth only that as the makers see it.......
Borninhove Posted - 18/03/2008 : 09:55:21
Could it be that the film was so awful, dire and dull that the Duke's management decided to pull it but then blame the pulling on the police/environmental health officer/EvilBrownTescoWalmart to still keep their 'right on' cred?

nightowl Posted - 18/03/2008 : 09:44:42
Worst kind of censorship, you can be assured now people will seek out this film to see what its all about...

Could be the truth that frightens the police and poloticians into this action.....?

I don't know about non-certified flims but have you ever seen 'The Sound Of Music'?
Borninhove Posted - 18/03/2008 : 09:07:02
"an environmental health officer raised concerns over its lack of a certificate." What has eniviromental health got to do with cinema? Do non-certified films give off noxious chemicals? Are they full of subliminal messages that will turn the audience into mindless zombies?

Most odd.
Miriam Binder Posted - 18/03/2008 : 09:05:10
One cannot help but wonder why the police thought it necessary to 'alert' the council that there was no certification.
