One of Brighton and Hove's most prestigious shopping developments could lie empty after Asda announced the closure of all its George stores.

My vote goes for a Greggs superstore, incorporating a bakery and museum of pasties through the ages. Oooh, the kids would love that!

Same old Brighton - it talked up the quadrant as if it was gods gift to retailing. It expected the likes of John Lewis etc to come running. And look what we got!

Yes, how on earth did the Council ever envisage that Harvey Nichols would want to have a small store in that mis-matched building in that odd spot?

I think it will be hard to let. Better as small shops.

I've only once been in that store ... it was a maze and I much prefer using the George outlets in the various supermarkets.
