The Junta will save bullets. They do not care for these people.
Miriam Binder Posted - 11/05/2008 : 12:23:16
They have gone ahead with the voting despite the fact that only 2/3rds of the country can vote. One cannot but wonder what the Junta is hoping to achieve by all this. I understand that the legitimate ruler has been under house arrest for 8 out of 12 years?
Borninhove Posted - 11/05/2008 : 10:42:50
Vile and the numbers keep growing

They reckon the initial death toll could be at least 150,000 and this could jump much higher if the junta continues to sit on its hands.
Miriam Binder Posted - 10/05/2008 : 18:03:19
All joking aside, what is happening in Burma is rather vile.

Thanks, Fluffy.

By the way, can we work to keep this the official Evil BushBrown Burma Cyclone thread. I know LTNS is (very slow off the mark) now posting on his Bush and Burma thread, but this one sums up the true EVIL of the BushBrown cliques' role in causing this dreadful calamaty the best, I believe.

BiH, you brought amusement to me if not to Moon, I`m still chuckling at the Wombat in the Pessary.
You could of course blame the crumbling, top-heavy NHS (under the Blair then Brown administration of course) for my sad capacity to be so easily amused.
I`m sure LT is big enough to not only tolerate but even appreciate your humour.

Exams? At the weekend? Well, why not ... Actually Sunday is not the weekend there is it? I know in Israel it is the first day of the week.

New Labour so far has not been too much of a hassle for me personally.

So much for enjoying the weekend! It's Friday, everything is closed, all the locals are heading for the mosque for the Friday sermon and I am stuck at work trying to work out how to fit 310 students into a cafeteria that has 5 rows of 17, 7 rows of 18, 1 row of 19 and 3 annexes of 24, 28 and 28. These have to be divided among 13 teachers who will be responsible for handing out the examinations, checking the computer scanned sheets are filled in correctly and dealing with any problems. And that is just the morning session. I have to do it all again for the afternoon when we have another bunch. Ho hum! Every final year high school student in the country has to take an English exam tomorrow (Yes, at the weekend) and we have over 1,000 coming in. Of course they couldn't set up the cafeteria yesterday, so today I have to get it all done. And of course Microsoft Word just decided to freeze and erase the floor plan I have spent the last 45 minutes working on so I will have to start all over again.

Anyway, Mrs BiH is running the exams at a local technical college tomorrow and the cat is at home looking as skeletal as ever and covering the floors (which are all stone tiles) with filthy paw prints. She is diabetic and drinks loads of water every day, so it is a real chore keeping up with the flooded stinky cat litter and the mess. But when you love an animal what can you do?

The garden is looking good, but I haven't taken a photo for a while. We have pink and white bougainvillea flooding over the top of our wall which looks really nice from the road and some bees have decided to build a hive there too, which is nice.

So, miriam, I hope you are well and not suffering too much under Evil New Labour.

Well, I did try and emulate the sheer unadultarated insanity that is the 'Tribal War' thread, but I guess I didn't do a very good job.

I blame Brown and Evil New Labour for my lack of ability to bring amusement to moon.

Hangs head in shame and shuffles off for the weekend

But it's sweet of you to worry about the poor fellow, though. FACT.

That's becuase i'm a good natured chap, if you are going to carry on teasing can you at least try to make it a bit more witty so it can bring me some amusement.
