Posted - 26/05/2007 : 03:27:15 The Vietnamese??? No, you KNOW it's Titchmarsh ...

But just one minute, now. This thread is getting far too interesting. I think you all need to try harder to acheive a level of dullness of which we can all be proud. Come on, chaps. Rally round, now.
Aren't those wheelie bins awful. And there aren't enough cycle lanes in Fishersgate. And don't you think smokers are absolute rotters. And there is this tramp who ...

Posted - 25/05/2007 : 21:48:00 Avro, I think it looks as if you were picking out the Vietnamese as the culprits in the drug growing houses...I'm sure , if its anything like here in the USA, the drug trade in the UK is an equal opportunity employer. Probably more integrated than any industry anywhere. .. |

Posted - 24/05/2007 : 21:59:53 This goes on here in the USA all the time....most are caught here because of the VERY high electric use caused by the growing lamps. I have mixed emotions about these "grow" houses. On the one hand , I really do not want my teenager to start spacing out before he has had a chance to do something...on the other, it does help with the balance of payments and foriegn exchange rate by cutting into the Mexican imports :)...Also, perhaps it is a bit greener even with the high electric use. No need for boat, plane, truck to deliver from 2000 miles away. I mean, grown localy is a good thing , right?
PS how did we get on this subject? |

Yes, loads of busts going down in the UK of cannabis factories some run by vietnames, who probably have imported a decent strain of puff. That spliff you mention must have had some lsd added to the grow fluid.
This is the second time you have mentioned Vietnamese.
I don't suppose you have any links to the stories you refer to. |

Posted - 24/05/2007 : 13:53:05 I remember a few years ago Hove police busted a house about 500 yards away from Hove police station. The whole of the interior had been gutted and converted into a massive greenhouse, with skylights built into the roof. It was busting with prime skunk.
Just think how boring one could be after smoking some of that:
Whoa! This carpet. It's so ... like ... blue!! (Giggle) Man ... blue ... hehehe ... sounds like poo! ... Whoa! I'm so funny! ... Where's that box of Golden Nuggets? |

Posted - 24/05/2007 : 11:19:40 BIH,the low countries must now include UK.
4 may, 2007 More than 400 police officers raided properties across the south of England as part of a crackdown into a cannabis factory and money laundering network.
So far 20 people have been arrested by police who raided 20 homes and nail bars in Southampton, Portsmouth and Fareham in Hants, Bournemouth and Swanage in Dorset and London in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
9 may, 2007 Police last night uncovered a cannabis factory at a house in Bradville.
11 may, 2007 A house in Stoke-on-Trent in which a fire broke out was being used as a cannabis factory, police have said.
Firefighters were called to the semi-detached house in Hilton Road, in the Harpfields area, on Friday morning.
Police found the house full of cannabis plants. The fire was on the first floor of the building.
It is thought the fire was caused by an electrical fault caused by the large amounts of power needed to light and heat the plants.
A few vietmanese involved

Posted - 21/05/2007 : 15:39:43 I wish! No, that sort of thing is best left to trips to the Low Countries. They tend to chop your head off in this neck of the woods for weed. No, that is just natural insanity, courtesy of the late, great Viv, who also said:
so if you're normal, I intend to be a freak for the rest of my life, and I shall baffle you with cabbages and rhinoceroses in the kitchen incessant quotations from "Now We Are Six" through the mouthpiece of Lord Snooty's giant poisoned electric head.
So there.

Posted - 19/05/2007 : 15:04:56 With apologies to the memory of Vivian Stanshall ...
avro's sweat-spangled face, eyes straining with mad intensity behind glasses the shape of Ford Cortinas, shuddered with the ungovernable maelstrom of information, inessential, infantry and endless, that constituted the grotesque furniture of his mind. Filing cabinets unlocked; thesauri fell agape; data danced in strict formation, quick, quick, quick-quick quick... puzzles fitted - it all added up: niggling, self-edited, tumbling with clicking impatience, cross-reference and erupting gathered beserk-fierce, heedless and torrential, howling for outlet from his springboard lips. |
