How sad that this Forum has gone the same way as the Argus one did.

The past few days it has so often been difficult to get postings onto it. It's a matter of sittign and waiting, nothing happens, it "times out", and all the effort is wasted.

I'm out of here.

Pat's trip to Gatwick looks like being the wildest thing since those after-hours patrols round Manhattan by Madonna.

Let's hope she doesn't sleep through the change at Chicago.

She will certainly stir up things when Bill Gates introduces her tov the team and she tells them about the way she did things in Hollingdean.

This is clearly a managerial revolution that Gates hopes will give him the edge over Steve Jobs.

It's wither a brilliant stroke or enough to have the shareholders easing him sideways.

Once it is definite that Bill Gates is taking Pat Hawkes off to Seattle, we can have a whipround for a stretch limo to take her to Gatwick, champagne all the way.

Goodbye (at Gatwick)

and Welcome Back Control Panel

Miriam Binder Posted - 09/06/2007 : 14:20:47
Wave goodbye???? We'd be there with bells on, flags flying and, having checked it is indeed a one-way ticket, banner as well.
Control Panel Posted - 09/06/2007 : 13:15:47
Apparently Gill Mitchell was sayng there is a story flying about here that Bill Gates was buying out Pat Hawkes, and so I thought I'd better check it out but it seems that this has got exaggerated in the telling and it is all to do with "servers". Perhaps these things have sorted themselves out now, I'll press the button and give it a go...

Of course, if Mr Gates changes his mind and is willing to spirit Councillor Hawkes off to Seattle, then I am sure there will be quite a gaggle to wave goodbye at Gatwick.

I've been keeping an eye on the support forum with these forumco people ... this is what their admin had to say on what has been happening

"It was a problem I fixed about 4 years ago to do with the amount of ports a server can open up when connecting to other servers/computers. It seems that a recent Windows Update reversed the fix. Thanks Mr. Gates."
Infinite Poppadum Posted - 08/06/2007 : 19:00:55
Is Bill Gates posting on the Forum? Perhaps he will stand for the Council next? He could solve all the Council's problems by buying it up, though he might negotiate a deal to exclude Pat Hawkes from the purchase.
Miriam Binder Posted - 08/06/2007 : 18:53:30
People are getting posts through ... the problem was sue to a security upgrade by Bill Gates which interfered with the software. This has now been sorted.
Infinite Poppadum Posted - 08/06/2007 : 18:51:50
Are people getting posts through? If they don't, they will get fed up with the Forum.

I'm sick of being persecuted by admin on this site. I'm considering blowing this forum off and tramping over to another one. You'll all be sorry when I'm a worthing forum legend....

It would have happened sooner or later regardless of Iraq.

So you truly believe that if Britain had not joined the USA in Iraq there would have been no attacks on this country from Islamic extremists?

FANTASY

I am truly sorry to burst your bubble LTNS but the fact remains that Blair got voted in again (and again as BiH so rightly points out) and even though it was each time with a decreased number of voters and a decreased majority, it is FACT. And it is further a fact that we, those who did as well as does who did not, have a hand in him being voted in. And that includes you!

And you, as a British person living in Britain, voted Blair in again ... and again. Does that make you "stinking Brits" because I don't like your leader?
