Why do those of us with a passion for baseball get such a raw deal of it here? Whenever talk of Falmer - or whichever site - comes up, there is never any mention of baseball provision. It's a great sport, with a growing interest here (look at Waterhall), both as players and spectators.
It would not suit the King Alfred site, of course, and Hove Park is too hilly.
If Brighton and Hove are to attract serious international attention, then let's get to grips with this. The Conservatives have often mentioned Sport, so let us see what they do about this. Now that Labour's narrow world view has come to an end, it is a chance for something with a wider outlook. |

New from Staten Island: there is now baseball for the blind over there. This would be something for the "inclusive" lobby to campaign for. |

A common missconception as baseball is older than rounders and rounders is copied from baseball not the other way round(er).......
A great game baseball. I used to watch the Toronto Bluejays play. Wonderfull day out in the sun, if you go to the USA or Canada try to get and see a baseball game, well worth it...... |

You can't play football and baseball in the same stadium? Certainly not 'soccer'. Money talks and there is no money in baseball, as yet.
Caeos - I used to play stoolball for my dad's solicitors firm, but that finished when he moved on. http://www.stoolball.co.uk/ There are various leagues, but Sussex seems to have disowner the game somewhat, sadly. |

Indeed there are. You only have to visit North Stand Chat to realise that many of the Brighton Fans are huge fans of many sports. Ranging from Football and Golf, to Basketball and Stoolball.
Indeed there are regular get togethers of football, cricket, rounders and even stoolball. The reason why football is talked about the most is because Sussex could be on the brink of losing their only professional team.
'Community' means helping out those less fortunate than others. The stadium will secure the future of the club and allow (Award winning) 'Albion in the Community' to expand. By all means strive to improve other sports, but do we really need to drag The Albion through the gutter (again). |

It is certainly very strange that Falmer is being called a "community" stadium but we never hear about any other sports to take place there.
Perhaps "community" mean that the cark park will be made available for boot sales (sales from boots I mean, not sales of surplus Albion footwear to go with its rip-off "strip"). |

Waterhall is clearly the place for it.

I would imagine that it could be a hit. Aim at the student market. We certainly have a large influx of Japanese visitors, who are obsessed by the sport. Can't say I took much notice of it, until I saw a game in Cuba. It is their national sport and was a fantastic experience. May nip down to see the Buccaneers someday soon. |

Indeed, it's high time their efforts got more attention.
The objectors to the King Alfred could have scored points by making more of sport. That would have been a good strategy.
Gill Mitchell said that she was under the impression that very few of them were at all interested in sport, they never mentioned it and that weakened their argument. |

What is wrong with Waterhall? We are frequently told by the Anti-Falmer Lobby that Waterhall is the site for Brighton and Hove Albion, so surely the current Baseball pitch can be extended upon and would be perfect for baseball? |
