Jessops in Brighton have 3 stores
I hope they keep one of them.
It is a good store and very helpful staff.

It is Amazing
the One Jessops remains in Brighton
because many will buy in Supermarkets and Online.

Jessops has many special product's that other stores do not sell
and they give good advice
that a Supermarket seller can Never Ever Give.

A new 'YouTube' type Very Easy use camera
is out soon around £40.
It only has a couple of buttons,
even though that product is cheap, better
paper choice is only at Jessops of Brighton.

More trouble at Jessops with the honcho leaving.

Another firm which had no foresight in positioning itself in the new, digital world. Some while ago it was apparent that one good shop in Brighton, selling high-quality stuff, was all that Jessops needed.

Cameras are not pasties, whatever LTNS would have us believe.

fully staffed in Central Brighton
Queens Road on the way to the Station
past Boots.

I notice that in the window of the photo place which closed down n North Street there is a sign which recommends customers go to its branch in Tunbridge Wells. Very convenient.

Is Jessops the only place to get cameras and pictures in Brighton and Hove?

It isn't so much the getting it in there ... it is the trouble once you have it contained.
Daveb Posted - 18/09/2007 : 22:45:58
How do you get get a big fish into a small pond?

And yes Daveb, it is a UK wide business.

More shop news! Can we rename 'Local news' to 'Shop news'?

Great idea! I think LTNS must have decided to throw his lot in with Fanshawe and the Brighton Business Forums.

Thing is ... I must agree with Duke ... the stores to be closed are primarily NOT in Brighton! So if this is any sort of news, it is national news.

We have one Jessops up here. Staff are really helpful and nice. OK, I may be living in the stone age, as my son says, but I DON`T have or even want a mobile phone, and I don`t have a digital camera (might consider that sometime though.)In fact, I`ve only just learned how to use the camera I do have (Olympus Zoom 105)as it was my late Hubby who did the camera stuff...I didn`t even know how to put a film in/take one out...and the very helpful staff in our local Jessops didn`t make me feel stupid when they showed me how to do it.

Shop news isn`t really out of place in either local or national news, IMHO. Maybe we should have a section for positive/negative comments on shops and services though - why not?

The Jessops in Queens Road will stay
the other two in western road and London Road are to close.

What with Tesco-Walmart now selling digital cameras Its a competertive market now, they should try the old philosophy, "stack-em high sell-em cheap"
