We`re in the middle of the school holidays, Easter came early and the holiday seems both untimely and prolonged. Our nearby Town has Police Horses, but we don`t generally see them here in the village... however, I drove through a local housing estate this week, and was really delighted and rather moved. Two beautiful, calm, stately Police Horses, each with a Policewoman on their backs, doing a brilliant bit of pr with a crowd of bored local kids. They just rode around and stopped to Meet People. They weren`t holding up traffic, but I pulled in to watch and enjoy. I`ve heard a fair bit of feedback since, too, all positive.
I`d love to see more of this kind of thing, & police dogs around too, `meeting the public`. |
