Greggs are now open on London Road.
83p will get you a quality fairtrade or tetley tea.
It is next door to the Sony shop.
Also Somerfields have a better store now more room
new layout,
and better tills set up.
The CEO of Greggs was on the Radio 4 Money Programme,
the other week
he is aware of food prices going up but he is also aware
Greggs offers great value.
He can see some other firms folding
due to their massive debts pulling them down.
Meanwhile Greggs is expanding.

Word here is that Greggs could be spreading along Western Road if it takes over some Thresher shops. Horrible.

As the former Chairman of Asda is now running ITV presumably there will be an increase in documentaries about such things as... pasties. Out with wildlife, no more lions and hippos, but a fearless stalking of virulent fodder along the perilous terrain that is the London Road, Brighton. |

Has Fluffy Sheep established what might be in the pastry of a Greggs pasty? As the firm is based in Newcastle, can we be sure that it doex not reach for the pack of lard at every opportunity? |

Anubis has been very brave recently, and fair. Now I will admit to having eaten a hot cheese & onion pastie from our local Greggs a few days ago when shopping with my daughter (she led me astray!). It was quite greasy but hot and very tasty on a cold day in town, fair do`s. I still wouldn`t touch a meat-mix pastie from there or anywhere else though! I like to know what I`m eating, meat-wise, and how long it`s been kept hot, etc. |

Further evidence that LTNS is working for Greggs.
Its official notice on the wall about ingredients etc spells confectionery as confectionary.
If the firm can't get spelling right, how can it be trusted to get ingredients in the correct proportions. No wonder it is all so stodgy. |

LTNS did not say that the Sky broadcast about Greggs shows that its growth has slowed in recent months.
Sales growth, that is, not growth on the pastry - customers have got used to that, they even enjoy it: scraping it off is rather like playing with a scab.

One firm is advertising its place as a party venue at the the top of this topic.
Does this mean that they are trying to rival branches of Greggs as such a venue? When does Greggs hold its parties?
Perhaps Greggs cuts the pasties into small pieces and brings them round on a tray, and it looks greedy if you take two of them. |

Deciding to confirm the previous 'tasting' wasn't a fluke, Mrs Anubis and I called into the London Road branch today to buy another three pasties. It was 11.45 am -- I would have thought a sensible time ... but there were only TWO of the THREE we wanted -- and once again, were not wanting to hang about for twenty minutes.
It's a Saturday! Maybe we should have gone to North Street?! |
