Three British children taken into care after middle-class parents 'drank themselves into a stupor' on Algarve holiday
The children, one-year-old Adam, two-year-old Amy and Aaron, six, were picked up by their parents the following day.
Staff at the Aparthotel Mourabel in Vilamourain called police after Eamon McGuckin, 34, and his wife Antoinette, 32, passed out on Friday night.

Was it the jug of Sangria that was supposed to be spiked? By whom do they suggest it was spiked?
I may have become a bit of a cynic but I find it hard to give credence to anyone in this sad tale.
The parents...well-off but not necessarily wise, probably could have taken a nanny (but WHICH nanny? How would they be certain SHE wasn`t going to get pissed/spiked or whatever?)
The Portuguese `authorities...I have a dear friend who is of that nation and wouldn`t place much faith in them at all.
The parents` GP.... many GP`s are sound and really know the folks on their books, but still only `know` what they`re told, and some GP`s know less - I`d place more credence if their VET had given them a character reference,if they have pets.
The hotel manager....a Portuguese Fawlty? |

Yes "Lt" they were! but only because a hotel manager was worried due to the father asking him ;to call an ambulance due to his wifes obvious discomfort as well as his own. The hotel manager was also worried about the fact if they had been drinking in his bar/restaurant HE would have been in the shit due to porteugese LAW did he .sky news 19 45hrs |

LT I have personally been to most countries in the world(OK when I have on the occasion imbibed too much I have felt out of this world,or mayhaps just out of it)now I have seen via my old job kids ie teenagers and even adults who have had thier drinks spiked so as they can be robbed of thier cash goods jewelry etc etc,FACT even in Holland newbies getting gifts of cake by disreputable persons in cafes such as "Ricks" "Hard rock"just to name but a few theses Cafes do thier best to keep an eye on not just thier customers but they contact the other cafes if they happen to catch a person out, now "Amsterdam" has not only the regular police they have the redlight police(a group of people who look after the reputation of "Canalstraase" and the surounding area;the eye tunnel police are the police who are like the bloudy "SAS" are the ones you do not upset ! and they are the ones who have constantly tried to tell the tourists what to look out for!! so come on if it can happen there can it not happen in "Portugal"? For once can you just admit you jumped the gun in your condemnation? |

Language Timothy LT I find it highly amusing that yet again you do not wait for facts,as it happens they could have been suffering from jetlag or any other stress related illness (I believe one paper did state that and the cops did not dispute that ,it was the hotel manager that stated they were blind drunk no one else has corroborated the allegation) |
