yet again Kemptown in Brighton is getting more violence!I looked out my window last night to see a lot of police congregated at a nearby neighbours house, within a few minutes all these cops with plastic shields were outside;seems there was a serious assault. The police would not go into detail but I have been told on good authority that a person was taken to the RSCH with serious injuries(stab wounds from what I can gather)moments prior to the police presence,I hope it gets sorted out and the person who is injured recovers!!Also it gives me a little more faith in the boys (and Girls) in Blue as they were well organised,Polite and were considerate in thier execution of thier work(not a noisy bunch of buggers like the last time something went off up here)

This has been going on for years and years. Mods & Rockers, Skinheads, Football crowds having a weekend punch up when B&HA got to old Div 2 then 1.
There are more people on the streets these days and the level of violence may have increased.
It may also be reported more.
I used to hear stories of razor gangs in Brighton during the Fifties.
It does not get any better.
I would still rather go out in Brighton than some other places.
Foreign students have always been easy targets.

Another assault.

Word is going around the world's language schools that Brighton is a place to avoid.

3 Gregs pastries will buy you half and hour. If you want to film it then that will cost you more, say a sauasge roll and a sticky bun on top.

Yes, this makes me feel better about those illegal sex workers I keep chained up in the basement. I mean if I wasn't exploting them then someone else would.

More violence over here, with a taxi driver stabbed outside the Concorde. There is an increasing amount of rubbish people on the loose. They are out to waste their own lives - and others'.

I think Elton John has a good point when he says the internet should be banned. Until the internet came along children never used to fight or bully each other, instead, they were content flying kites under pylons and writing letters to Jimmy Saville.

Agreed. Saw that, just a big ad for liveleak really.

The guy who owned liveleak scared me... Just goes to show we haven't really progressed very far from the days of gladiator fights in the coliseum.

The resident quoted in the Argus made me raise my eyebrows. She said something along the lines of "you don't expect this sort of thing in a respectable middle class neighbourhood". Ha! If she lives in that area, she'd know only too well how many of those big houses have been converted into flats - many of them quite squalied (spelling?). After all, preceding the assault, an altercation was taking place outside a flat in Vernon Terrace.

Sleaze is synonimous with Brighton.

There is another murder, up at Montpelier Crescent., out on the street. It is not just the sleaze areas such as London Road where it happens.

the blue and white police tape is now gone but a police officer is still at the house,I wonder how the injured party is?

There is clear evidence here.
Let us hope he gets what he deserves.

Yes, this brainless mindless violence seems to be on the increase.
About time the public rounded on these thugs and gave them the justice they deserve.

There will always be incidents like this.

There are certainly areas of Brighton which used to be ok to walk home through after a night out. These included Kemp Town, London Road and crossing the Level.
I would not risk it now though. Ran into a few incidents back then though. (mid to late 70s).
