This went down before in 1988 and now they are getting ready for another Writers Guild Strike due to not getting paid for DVD's and Internet.
How can Hollywood get like this, all this should have been added as it all came in over the years. To turn around now and say 'hey I ain't getting enough' is crazy. They are lucky to have a Big Industry with Mega hit shows like '24' making Billions worldwide.
Live Shows like USA XFactor will not get any problem from a Strike of writers. They do not need them.

Posted - 06/11/2007 : 18:52:56 Ch4 Uk had a report on this Strike.
Clever Jay Leno was out with the Strikers giving out donuts because he needs them back for his Live show each night.
But the Hollywood Studio Bosses have no talks planned.
They will show Live programs which do not need Writers, instead of doing a deal with the strikers.

Posted - 02/11/2007 : 12:35:56 Ditto with Peggy Lee. Hollywood wouldn't pay royalties the VHS release of "The Lady and the Tramp", the music of which was done by Lee (words and music). http://www.hollywood.com/celebrity/Peggy_Lee/194174

Posted - 01/11/2007 : 20:57:57 I wish the directors of XFactor would go on strike forever.
As for the other writers, they get paid enough. |
