Posted - 10/03/2008 : 11:33:22 Sitting here in Arabia under the a/c, outside a mild spring-time 30°C, while on my computer screen headlines blare of a "giant storm battering the coast of the the UK" and was wondering how dear old Sussex was getting along. I have seen waves reach onto the main coast road in Hove, smashing up the beach huts and spreading pebbles all over the lawns, and I have driven along to Newhaven while spray completely drenches the car in the low 'dips' in the cliff, but that was all many, many years ago. So, how are things today?

Posted - 10/03/2008 : 17:16:20 Pretty lively in Lewes, the cats are all staying indoors.
I have been out and met a lorry on the wrong side of the road at Selmeston. Kingston appears to be blocked off.
Happy meandering.

It certainly isn't as bad as it was in 1987 ... not down here in Brighton anyway. Just came back from Newhaven and though the winds are strong(ish) the car was quite steady on the road (A259) though a couple of high sided vehicles did seem to have a bit of a struggle keeping to a lane.
The car was well weighed down though
Oh yes ... with one heavily pregnant, one half way to due date, a dog, a weeks shopping and me. Very heavily weighed down thanks |
