On Radio 5 Live this morning
a Postal worker was saying why the changes are wrong.

He said it is more about working practices
His example was a route he does and two other people do,
he finishes 2 hours ahead
due to his efficiency, so Royal Mail will then put him on
other duties for those two hours.
But he did the whole job.

So long as he does the Whole route
then it should not matter if he does it quicker.

The main stuff people get is Amazon orders
who are using TNT and other firms.

It was on the news yesterday
showing how a mail order firm has lost over 10k.

It also showed mountains of Mail
still not sorted.

You say wildcat strikes?
in London some are on go slow (reported on BBCLondon Local News)
and most of our mail goes through those striking bastards.
Ian Posted - 05/11/2007 : 14:40:15
Anyone else not been receiving mail recently? I've had almost none in the past two weeks, including a credit card bill that was sent on the 22nd of October. The Royal Mail have told me there aren't problems in the BN postcode area (no wildcat strikes), and there's been no redirection of mail from my address. I'm in the Hanover area.

Sure
Half of the Strikers are now saying the same.

They do wildcat strikes
& get away with it.

Why have a Union - they ain't helping,
they are saying get back to work.

FACT.

Companies that do not have the nous to adjust to the current postal strike risks by increasing their reliance on email/fax and other electronic methods of getting data and important documents across .... one has to ask oneself, are these companies really sufficiently adept and responsive enough? Do these companies deserve to survive?

Times have changed
Unions are no longer needed.

Some Companys may not get that important mail
because the Hold Up now means that
there is a big risk now of Mail getting Lost forever.

And Fubar
I have said this Strike was not needed.

A "wildcat" strike is one that is NOT supported by the union so how would getting rid of the union stop the strike? Really LT you should decide which side you are going to be on at least. You can't slag off Bushblairbrownwllmartasda and then have a go at someone who is fighting them as well. Pick a point of view and stick with it, stop being so wishy washy and indecisive in your support.......

SkyNews and BBC
have both reported
that in some London and Liverpool areas
Postmen on Still on Strike, (like the classic 1959 film I'm All Right Jack)
even though the Union has said they should return to work now.

Agreement reached
with the Union- it is claimed.
Of course the Striking Workers
have still got to see this agreement?

Monday will be the test.

Yep, todays postmen don't know how lucky they are.
This picture shows postie uprightous from early GPO age.

Delivering tablets of first class stone was hard work.

Of course Brown stays right out of this.

The Courts take over
and on Monday they will try to Stop the
Wednesday Rolling Strike, if they are doing them, of course.

I hope not Nightowl ... I think you may well be right but I sincerely hope you are wrong.
nightowl Posted - 12/10/2007 : 19:46:51
How long is a piece of string? This is just the state, status quo influencing the courts......

the Communication Workers' Union had failed adequately to comply with legal requirements to state accurately the number of employees likely to be affected by the action.

And is this the sole reason for ruling the strike illegal? For failing to accurately state a number likely to be?

The High Court Rules
next weeks Postal Strikes are Illegal.

From London ITV Local News
many postmen are on strike in London,
with no Union permission.

And now it is costing Small Business
5 Million pounds a day
because they can not afford the big DHL or TNT private post deals.

Brown is doing nothing, at present,
he has washed his hands of it,
Neo Conservative New Labour Thug he is.
FACT.

Del
some are on un-official strikes
right now.
thedelboy Posted - 11/10/2007 : 10:13:06
asI have said I suppoert the postal workers,I would not work extra just to give the fat cats more prestige,by the way the next strike is pencilled in for tuesday
FUBAR Posted - 11/10/2007 : 09:03:21
Slavery never left, they call it flexibility now though. As an employee you have to be flexible in your work methods, in other words do as your told and shut up. If you dare to have an opinion of your own you are just a trouble maker and got rid of. I put it down to when companies had "Personnel" departments but now they are called "HUMAN RESOURCES"which puts everyone in the same classification as a piece of paper. You are not a colleague or associate you are just a cog and when your not needed any more out you go. Company loyalty only goes one way, guess which.........
long time no see Posted - 10/10/2007 : 22:57:10
For sure Brown
is Neo Conservative.

And he will not deal with this Dispute.

What will be next?
Polish Mailmen!
nightowl Posted - 10/10/2007 : 21:46:26
British management is rubbish, they put profit before customer service, national interests, and whats right and just for all.
If left to commerce and business alone slavery would be back big time in this country
Governments are there to control and regulate business practises, but Labour have failed dismally as Northern Rock has demonstrated.
Brown has become one of the elite club that rules Britain, they may call themselves Labour, Tories, Lib Dems but they are all essentially of one beleif, why do you think he is courting Maggie?
long time no see Posted - 10/10/2007 : 19:48:31
Sure Nightowl
but every Industry is doing the same.
The whole Nation would be on Strike
if they did not change?
But ONLY the Postal Workers are Striking.

The Sainsburys Boss,Today,
was proud to say he has
many Migrant workers.
This must be the Future?

It is like this country is not doing well
but New Labour claim it is,
not many Trust their spin.

Nightowl
do you think New Labour should sort this out?

They say it is down to the Managers,
they trust them more.
nightowl Posted - 10/10/2007 : 19:43:25
The key issue in this dispute remains the unacceptable cuts in postal services – cuts in postal jobs - and attacks on our members’ terms and conditions.

We say to the public the threat to the very future of your postal services is real.

Royal Mail’s plans include 40,000 job losses – later deliveries - reductions in collections – reductions in weekend service.
The closure of delivery offices and mail centres – and the destruction of the rural and crown office post office network.

The public know postal workers are decent people – they just want to get on with their jobs - but they really have had enough of the way they are being treated by Royal Mail.

long time no see Posted - 10/10/2007 : 19:39:30
Ch4 News Live
just had New Labour's MP John Hutton.
John Snow said "it is state owned
why are You not helping in there."

Hutton
claims they have no plans to make it a Private Company?
He says this Strike must end
and they have ho reason to strike.

So, I would say,
it is a Downsize in every way.

Amazon have started doing some Home Deliveries by
Car drivers. Some at 5PM.

If amazon uk set this up in every deal
they will win all online orders for the next month or so.
