That beacon of civilization in Portslade, the Stanley Arms, has again won CAMRA's Southdowns top prize.

It is in Wolseley Road.

The Stanley Arms is a bit of a hike from Kemp Town, but are there good pubs in Hove? So many of them are awful, Eleanor Rigby pubs like the Neptune - "ah, look at all the lonely people!"

We're back!

Don't forget that from Friday to Sunday there is another Beer Festival at the Stanley Arms in Wolsley Road, Portslade.

Today's Argus has a report about the terrifying events at the Whistlestop Inn in Station Road, Portslade. Even the bouncers hurl people through glass windows, and, at the drop of a hat, all the regulars pile into a brawl. The Council is going to have it shut down completely.

There would not be such scenes if it were a branch of Truffles.

Thank heavens for the Stanley Arms!

Didn't look in this year.

There's a report here. Dominic Grout must have to put on a forced smile about bathrooms every time he meets somebody.

The Stanley? Has a beer festival?

And they have a great little beer festival too. It's just finished, so you'll have to wait for next year now.

Yes, it's a hike from here in Kemp Town - but it's convenient for our councillor Craig Turton who lives near it.
