I know that Brighton does get some local TV news coverage, but that most of the town can't receive it.
After watching the 'local' news this morning on bbc, talking about Weymouth and Dorchester and Berkshire, I am resolved to try and find out how I can get proper local news.
Does anyone know? If you are West of Whitehawk Hill, does that mean you will never get 'local' news? What about news on the internet?
Any ideas peeps?
And yeah, I know local news is often not 'news', but I would prefer if the cats stuck up trees were at least stuck in local trees (in danger of sounding like I live in Royston Vasey here...).

BBC on Digital is Brighton to Kent.
BBC on Cable is Brighton-Hove to Southampton. Normal TV is the same.
ITV Local covers Southampton to kent. ITV Local Site has a great new site you can watch the 30mins show from many areas at any time.

There is a Brighton Internet news but that is some kind of pop thing.
Sky Digital is best it gives you every BBC region in the UK and ITV London news.
In other areas the Guardian Media Group set up a Manchester Local News Service on Sky. And Solent - Isle of Wight have a News station on Sky. |

No, no, no! We don't want TV news for outsiders

I am sure someone will set up a local TV station fairly soon. In the states and Australia, even the smallest towns seem to have their own TV stations. Mind you, when you have to drive 200 miles to the next village I suppose that's hardly surprising. |

In Manchester it took funding from local areas and Tech funding and help from the Guardian Media company.
If it goes on Sky and Cable it will do well. Internet sites should be used for Extended reports. You can never rely on Internet alone Bill Gates is being Hacked every Day. |

What are you on about LTNS, did you check the channel listing, there are lots of channels. I think it is a good idea, good luck to them. |

Point the aerial east for news from Dover. West and you get Southampton.
This is where the news teams are based.
Usually too much trouble to travel to Brighton.
They may have seen report on the traffic jams, parking fees and wardens. Then decided not to bother. |
We're all doomed! Head for the hills before they start heading for you! |

| I expect there are quite a few people who google 'TV Brighton' and are looking for something quite different to a internet news channel |
