LT, for once I agree with No Expert. Now be a good boy please. We don't especially want this to be fluffy bunny land, but many have disabilities (myself included) and to have them continually referred to is not very nice.

LT, rarely do I take to task a fellow poster, but your constant reference to the Prime Minister as "one eyed Scottish Brown" is insulting to say the least. The fact that he only has one eye does not lessen the fact that he is the Prime Minister of Great Britain and regardless of your political beliefs he should be accorded the courtesy of that office.
Incidentally have you no impediments LT?..............that is apart from being extremely rude. |

Suppose I were a press reporter back in the nineteenth century and wrote reports for The Times with headings like:
"One eyed, one armed British admiral demolishes fleets of France and Spain off Cape Trafalgar", or
"Irish general pulverize French forces on the field of Waterloo"
would my headlines be 'offensive' to the British people? I'm not convinced you are right!
British prime ministers are not 'elected' ... and even if they were, because one holds 'an office' is no reason they should deserve 'respect' because of the position they hold. |

Oh dear. I feel you have taken me too literally. My point really was that LT always pounces on people who have a deformity of some kind. I am also aware tha British PMs' are not elected. I am not the first person to take this insolent writing up with LT but I do think that he pushes the bounds of decency too far.

All Prime ministers are unelected. You vote in a general election for your local MP, not the leader of that party (unless you happen to live in his/her constituency).

Two of the five were close friends of my daughter's. She trained with one of them.
And the teacher who died recently following a local road accident was the son of dear friends of mine.
Very sad times. Especially poignant today.
Happy memories.
