A dog looses his life and a trouble maker gets £42,500 compensation!

The system over reacting and not to the benefit of the community, me thinks....

As the boy was not arrested or charged with anything I daresay he cannot be called a troublemaker. Having said that, what on earth was he doing running when asked to stop? A six hour operation and £42,500 to boot?

Nah, not justice and certainly not reasonable ...

I wonder how much compensation Bruce would have got had he been stabbed during the incident in Morley Street?

Gone into folklore now, but during one of the friday night Whitehawk "mini riots" a few summers ago, there's the lovely story of a police dog giving a bit of verbal to a local resident who was heard to shout as she was bundled into police van, " I want that dog's name and number..!"

Apparently, as the report in the paper said, having given her a bit of a nibble, several people rang the Argus to see if the dog was okay!!

And she got compensated for the nip to her ankle as well. The thing is, when people paly with fire they can expect to get their fingers burned. Police dogs are highly trained, they are never just let off the leash ... not without plenty of prior warning.

What happened in Whitehawk was avoidable by all accounts however that is all now water under the bridge and hopefully lessons have been learned by both sides from that awful episode in the estates' history. Needless to say though, if you will run when a trained police dog is after you, you are asking for trouble ... or maybe they are just after the compensation ... after all 42,500 for the resewing on of an earlobe is a nice little earner ...

As usual, as soon as the trouble maker gets a bit of their own back they run straight to the law courts.
Rather strange really.

Pity the dog did not rip off her leg and tear out her vocal cords!

We're all doomed!
Head for the hills before they start heading for you!

£42,500 seems a but much, when according to the PI guidelines the amount for loss of hearing in one ear is £17,500 to £25,000. Perhaps the poor wee lad was claiming trauma? My sympathies lay with the dog and its a pity its only his ear that got bitten off...

Appalling that the dog was put down for doing his duty. The compensation culture has turned the world mad.

the reason why the whitehawk girl got bitten was because she was trying to kick the dogs handler in the head after they have been knocked to the floor. nice girl then.
