Firstly what do people think of this idea? It seems exactly the opposite from the spoon-feeding education culture that currently seems to exist in schools.

Secondly, what is Brighton doing with the Building Schools for the Future money? Every school rebuilt by 2020? Erm, have we missed something here?!

This looks like a rather hi-tech adaptation of the Montesorri method.

I should imagine that employers would also like people who can read ,write and do basic maths.

I came into the world with nothing and still have most of it left..

What a load of cods!

So I from this it would seem most posters have been educated by an inferior, failed system!

Good teachers + good disciplne + support for the teachers from the parents by instilling values at home = Educated Kids.

Stop mucking about with the system, stop making teachers act the part of social workers/disciplinarians/councillors/psychologists/replacement parents. What would help immensely would be allowing teachers to do what they are trained to do and that is teach.

The number of government schools which teach Latin has increased noticeably the past few years. That is a good thing, at least.
