Surely I'm not the only reader of this post who just doesn't understand your comment, Miriam.
The last time I wrote about George on Livewire was to remind readers of his active public demonstration in Westminster (in front of the Commons, allowed in those days) AGAINST British and American support for Saddam Hussein, who was dropping gas on the Kurds at the time. Presumably, he'd have had much more support from Miriam if he'd just shut his mouth, and/or joined the ranks of the traditional British parties and SUPPORTED the US and UK providing the weapons to Saddam?
Then when the illegal war was prepared, he made a great public display of opposition and backed the two million who marched (I and family were there!) ... horror of horrors, George presumably would have had your support if again he'd shut his gob, said and done nothing?
The clipping I posted above was a news item from the "East London Advertiser", which I thought was worthy of a wider readership. To my knowledge, George has not produced (or been party to the production of any "leaflet" of horror vis-a-vis the assassination. If only he'd just shut up, or simply "supported" the 'regrets' and hypocritical homilies from Gordon Brown & co .... then you'd have been more sympathetic, I guess? |

You guess wrong Anubis. I don't like Gorgeous George, I have never liked Gorgeous George. I think he is a bandwagon jumper.
As for the regrets and hypocritical homilies ... no time for them either. But then I have never had much time for this supercilious 'we-know-what-is-best' trend in international politics. |

Interesting that of all the thousands of tributes paid to Benazir Bhutto by politicians of every stripe around the world, the one you chose to post was from the odious, medacious slime-ball Galloway. This would be the same Galloway who received all sorts of cash from the Pakistani government in the 90s to set up a Kashmir-lobbying group and publication: "East" and who also sent begging letters on House of Commons writing paper for even more money.
Well, he fawned all over Saddam and Assad, so nothing that revolting piece of carpet-bagging slime does surprises me any more. Still, I think having his self-promoting, oleageneous puff-piece posted here in full was a bit much. A simple link would have sufficed.
I wonder what his 'Respect' party members would have made of him campaigning alongside Benazir for the PPP - they've always struck me as much more likely to be Jamiat e Islami types. |
