| I wonder if this new Somerfield store will enjoy the luxry afforded to the other stores in the area, of blocking not only North Street but also possibly parking accross the traffic lights and junction making it dangerous indeed, |

Hey guys, Just wanted to give y'all an update, I've moved from Jimmy street to the north road Somerfield. The small store is doing better then had been hoped for, were beating the expected earnings by about 15-20k a month. The management team is also a hell of lot more approachable then the management team down jimmy street. Although the store is small and on occasion we do get some complaints about the delivery lorries parking in front of the store, all in all its a much better atmosphere for customers and staff. If you look past the horrible windows and signage the store is a nice local small store where staff are always willing to help, a much better improvement over jimmy street. The front of the store certainly needs improvement, they should really take down that horrible green on the windows and displays in front of them show off what they have for sale, but its not my department. As for Jimmy street, i've heard from mates inside that the old manager who was a complete and utter idiot was moved to a smaller store after the entire staff in the store wrote letters to the regional manager complaining. The official reason for him leaving was due to the fact that head office believed he couldn't handle a big store. They have the manager from London Road Somerfield running things now, no idea how he is doing. But from the latest inside info from the works seems to be moving Somerfield stores to more the size of the north road one, they are opening another somerfield up in north street which would be about the same size as the north road one. To be honest theres a lot of chat about them cutting their loses with Jimmy street entirely and concentrate on the smaller stores. Jimmy street somerfield has been declining for years now and has recently become so terrible that not only are customers complaining but the entire staff are too. I don't think it will be too long before you see a big FOR SALE sign above the jimmy street somerfield. |

| Nice to hear from you again timytimy ... glad to hear you are happier in the other store. As for Jimmy Street Somerfield ... it has been on a downward slope for years as you say. I don't think I even bother going there anymore and haven't in over 2.5-3 years. |

| Somerfield in St James's Street? You mean the ex Safeway. When Safeway closed its stores it became Morrisons but Morrisons then quickly sold it on: the only Morrisons presence in the area as far as I know, gone. |
