So, in effect the playground will be intended purely for the children living in the development. Any idea how this is going to be enforced? |

Security of this Prime new housing will be private, again to ensure those rough people from that neaby rough area do not enter without permission etc.
The Marina as it is now, has Security so it will be expanded of course. |

So let me see if I got this right. There is going to be a new development of over 12 residential units - which will not have the requisite number of 'affordable' homes in it but will be a gated community with additional security to ensure that individuals from the adjacent housing estate do not gain access to local civic amenities and all under the auspices of Brighton and Hove City Council? |

What is your problem? Why does the New Project anger you?
Some flats will be for the poor folks many will not.
Why is this such a issue? |

Don't get ahead of yourself LTNS. It is just your assumption that the project angers me and, like many an assumption you have made, it is a wrong one.
And for your information 'Affordable Housing' is intended for 'key personnel' and 'first time buyers'. Poor folk, as you so quaintly put it require 'social housing'. |

Again LTNS, you are getting carried away with yourself. I think we will yet live to rue the day. However my reasons are far from the petty minded ones you seem to feel you ought to assign to me. I do not believe that Brighton and Hove City Council has the appropriate infra structure in place to support all this indiscriminate development. |

The current situation at the Marina is rather strange when you think about it.
High priced housing. Mixture of high and low cost food outlets and entertainment. Chav city supermarket. At least it allows the cheeky Chavs to case the well off living quarters so they can pop back later.
Perhaps the new uber-state Fortress Marina should replace ASDA with upmarket Marks & Spencer or Fortnam and Mason.
Welcome sign to read....
You are now entering a Chav Free Zone NO Shell suits or Burberry NO visible thong or expanded belly NO Pitbulls NO NICKING HERE Proof of earnings over £70K p.a. required etc.....

Page 7 Of Todays Argus shows the update for a Hotel On The Sea on the Black Rock site just before the Tower. Also a New Bridge is planned for walkers so they will no longer have to navigate through tunnels.
A big Boost for Tourism with a Hotel On the Sea. Bliss. |

As long as they have their gumboots on and are wearing their sou'westers I suppose it cannot matter much. I'd hate to have to try and bring back the shopping though. Unless you have it in a water tight container it is not likely to get to the hotel without being saturated. |

| What tourists will be enticed to coem all the way to the "Marina" hotel so that they can then go shopping in Walmart? Or eat out at some sort of Happy Eater. I should be surprised if the tower etc goes ahead, let alone this hotel. |

No other Hotel is ON the sea like this will be.
Marina Shopping area and bars as well as Walmart Clothes Floor.
You are wrong as The big change is the current Walmart Asda store plot with be more homes, and Walmart UK want a Bigger & Better store (with a brand new road) to beat the German Aldi and Lidl stores.
This was all on ITV Local TV News, today.

I have stayed in many hotels where the sea comes right up to the building except most of these have been on nice med islands with the warm sea lapping rocks rather than the english channel crashing up against a concrete breakwater! |

Sure but you know very well how rough the Sea gets in the Black Rock area. It will have to be a good Built Block.
