Far be it for me to promote disharmony in that household, but the brewing time must depend upon the type of tea. Darjeeling requires longer while a quick burst of 99 can get away with a couple of minutes (indeed, any longer and it can turn to sludge).
Greggs certainly seems like the Ritz compared with the caff I once went in. The proprietor put tea in a plastic sieve and held it under a hot-water tap (not even boiling) fixed to some sort of tank - by which time I had fled the premises.
It must have been the prospect of drinking something like that which made Hannibal Lecter explore other options. |

Greggs sell Tetley Tea. So it is a Tetley Standard you are talking about.
Unlike American Starbucks who have their own dodgy brand of tea bag.
Another pathetic lie! just like newlabourgordenbrown. starbucks use top quality tazo tea http://starbucks.co.uk/en-GB/_Favorite+Beverages/The+World+of+Tazo+Tea.htm they use only the finest blends so you pay more for quality and real leather seats
not cheap plastic seats which cause backside perspiration |

Doesn't look as if this system is up to Chinese figures. Not very inclusive!
Perhaps long time no see can devise a way of providing us the original idiograms of his name. |

| Well, folks, the 2000 mark seems a distant memory for this topic. In the blinking of an eye, it's now gone beyond 2600, and I think that we should all recognise that, from whichever viewpoint we take, this must stand as a tribute to the remarkable place which Greggs, from its humble Newcaslte origins, has acquired in our nation's favours and, indeed, as a player on the world stage. I should not be surprised if Simon Fanshawe has bought shares in it.. |

| I can top that, I think, Control Panel. When I first started work, back in the dark ages, we had a tea lady who made us tea and coffee in the mornings. She would make her own teabags out of stockings (worn or new, I hate to think). This was found out when they were spotted washed out and hung over the taps to dry, and ready for the next batch of tea |

Goodness knows what LTNS's marketing masters will think when they do a spot-check on his Greggs promotion.
In an age when there is a fragmentation of media - no more of people watching/reading the same thing simultaneously - marketing men are also trying to engineer word of mouth. People are paid to start conversations into which a product is brought. Those hired to do this have to write reports of what they have done/said, and their controllers can spot when these reports are false.
It is an increasingly surreal world, but here, by the Greggs topic being turned on its head, the people have made a stand against this strategy.. |

Standards have improved in Brighton & Hove (Portslade too ?) and we see the results. People flocking to enjoy the better quality of life in this city. We could debate the extent that this is due to Greggs. |

Yes, Paul McCartney's previous album in fact does not mention coffee but has a song called English Tea:
"Would you care to sit with me For a cup of English tea? Very twee, Very me Any sunny morning."
It would not sound as romantic if he had sung about bringing in a couple of polystyrene cups from Greggs. Any song about Greggs would need a heavy rock backing, not strings.

Yes, LTNS claims that, with Greggs, he has been on a mission to regenerate the London Road, but this is fraudulent.
Somebody with a genuine concern for tea drinking on the London Road would at least have invited residents to consider the merits of Wetherspoons. Some might prefer Greggs, but Wetherspoons must be worth consideration.
This establishment offers tea at 79p, in porcelain cups. True, that is 4p more than Greggs but it also stocks Twinings as well as Teltey's - and they do herbal - and the price includes a free mini biscuit (how much would that cost in Greggs?) Moreover, it uses organic milk.
And, while Greggs has no seats and is keen to bundle customers out , through the wide, draughty door, Wetherspoons invites customers to loll on sofas or sit at tables - for no extra charge.
So, for a modest outlay of 79p, hard-pressed residents can find an hour's retreat from the rigours of the London Road.
And, LTNS will no doubt agree that Wetherspoons will soon be all non-smokling - unlike those benches on the pavement where Greggs customers have to perch.

LTNS now tells us that Wetherspoons is down the road from Greggs, but we know that - he doesn't address the comparative factors for the Greggs and Wetherspoons tea.
What's more, Wetherspoons has wi-fi, so LTNS could sit in there and post his deliberations in real time, sip by sip. |

You could also take away the tea from Wetherspoons - and have a free biscuit.
You have not enteted into the equation the fact that one could relax over the tea at Wetherspoons.
But where does one drink the tea at Greggs? Presumably a Greggs customer buys tea there as he is away from home.
So, being away from home, it makes sense to sit in the comfort of Wethespoons and drink the tea.
You say I am deluded, but you are certainly being illogical. |
