Yes seems to be the part of the road opposite an Indian Restaurant.
More where that came from .....

Haven't seen Greggs yet but some interesting cycle lanes.

It's the first bus stop past Preston Circus, just down from Preston Park. I know that bus stop well.

This is a Typical problem
Trade Vans care nothing about cycle lanes.

Is that last photo at the back of Greggs ? Is the van driver loading up with sausage rolls ? Is the driver, like many on this forum a connoisseur of brown sauce ?

I see the coffee shops are keeping the area low.

The Police are working on one theory that he was in fact the victim of an escaped pasty. Horrible.

There was a Police unit doing forensic type things at the scene. As it is nearly opposite the place in the title of this topic, at first I wondered if the brown sauce had been at fault. However lots going on at the scene, so it must have been serious.

Rather a nasty incident as apposed to pasty incident.

Awful stuff.

Even if this is a freak occurance, it will confirm the general view that London Road is a dodgy area, and one especially to avoid after dark if this happens in daylight.

There are plans to turn Greggs into a semi-automat to get the turnover up to a billion? This would cut down on staff costs but raises hygiene issues, especially in the London Raod.

Perhaps Arghiros will turn one of his ground floor flats into a Greggs to improve the cash flow.

The bad weather has brought a surge in home deliveries for Domino pizza. Is this one of LTNS's specialities? Seems that, with the rain, people stay home and have food brought to them

Why don't they cook for themselves?

Anyway, perhaps, with climate change, Greggs will have to go into home-deliveries as well as that automat system.

Some home 'deliveries' in some parts of the country consist of fishing from an upstairs window.

Last I saw of London Road, that was not the case.

Perhaps every so often Sir Michael Darington will help out - good publicity - by delivering the pasties and Tottenham cake in the Bentley.

That looks like a plastic fish, so it could be destined for a Greggs baguette.

If one is not a sugar user, is it all right to take away from such places as Greggs in the London Road (local news) sugar sachets to keep at home for visitors who need it in their tea?

Greggs Bakers Brass Band is on My Space.

The history of the band goes back to 1913. It was formed by a local group of musicians called the Newbiggin Collliery Band and included miners who worked at the colliery. Goodness knows what their lungs were like when it came to blowing these instruments.

In the Forties these miners were transferred to the nearby Lynemouth Colliery and the band was known as the Newbiggin and Lynemouth Colliery Band. When Newbiggin Colliery closed they became the Lynemouth Colliery Band.

When that Colliery closed, the band chose the less-than- glamorous-sounding Newbiggin Welfare Band.

In 1994, Greggs became its sponsor, and appears to have insisted on its being called 'Greggs Bakery Band'. rather than "Welfare Band sponsored by Greggs" . Presumably Sir Michael Darrington did not think that image accorded with his Bentley pulling up outside.

So it appears not to be in fact a Band of bakers and pasty sellers, and presumably all the miners are no longer giving a trombone some welly.

Let us hope that a Greggs sign does not go up outside the East Beach Cafe, an effective and modest design which is bringing Littlehampton national attention.

No Greggs is no place near that.
It is like a Dead End area.

I am sure that if the Greggs Bakery Brass Band got a gig down here, they could adapt to this local demand. That might inspire the bakery side of it to sell Sussex Pie (best eaten without any brown sauce).

Sounds as if Greggs will be putting in a bulk order.

I wonder what method Greggs uses to keep down the flies on its premises? There are no doubt a lot of them wafting in from the ever-salubrious London Road.
