Yes, it is not only Taj customers who are pondering the price of onions.
Onion Futures could indeed become as crucial as the growing question of wheat, what with the switch in fuel supplies and all that entails.
Despite No Expert's aspersions, long time no see has a finger on the pulse of economic indicators.
Now, what is the general view of Taj's range of pulses... |

This is very gaudy-looking cake.
It must require very strong tea to take away the taste of that. |

| Carluccio's is a load of overpriced rubbish. Has anyone else found it to be so? At least Donatello's is cheap and cheerful and unpretentious, but Carluccio's is bad food camouflaged by a swanky interior. |

| Winston, a friend took me for lunch at Carluccios very shortly after it opened as she used one in London I think; in fact we were told Carluccio himself was coming down that evenuing to host a private party to mark its opening. The portions were minute. I ordered some sort of pasta with a spicy sausage sauce. It came with about a tablespoon of sauce and a teacup of pasta. When I got home I was so hungry I hsd gto make myself some scrambled egg. I would not go there again. I agree with you about Donatellos though. |

Yes, Carluccio's is a complete waste of money. People go there because they think that they are being "smart", as if to sit at a table and eat there somehow raises the intelligence level.
Foodwise, you are even better off going into Tesco Express next door and getting something for the microwave at home.
When will Brighton people wise up to the fact that they are being ripped off something rotten? |

I much prefer the concoctions my grandson (10) comes up with ... he loves playing about in the kitchen and is extremely creative especially with pasta. His speciality is a pasta pesto/tuna and he makes a mean pasta tuna salad.
I always make a pasta dish if I am pressed for time and want something quick and nutritious. |

| I went to Carluccios expecting a tasty meal after all the spin about the place. It was rubbish. We had to wait an hour to get a seat.(Friday night). What was I waiting for? Calamari that looked like dried up string, gritty pasta. Awful. Anyone know any good restaurants in Brighton or Hove? The only one I would recommend is Terre a Terre and I'm not vegetarian! Went to Due South once. First they had run out of the some things on the menu and it wasn't late then we had to wait ages, then they put some charity charge on the bill for their charity, don't know what it was, without even asking and people rave about it. Is it all spin or don't people notice these things. Would be nice to know a restaurant I could recommend to people coming to Brighton apart from Terre a Terre. |

| LTNS has been misled, falling for what must have been a seductive ploy by Greggs. Now that they have got people to buy the tea, they have upped the price to 75p, which is an increase way beyond inflation. What a bunch of racketeers. |

What's more, LTNS has edited his first post so that posterity will be under the impression that Greggs were charging 75 pence for the tea from the off.
Even Stalin would not stoop so low as to do that with his airbrush.
All I can say is that LTNS has put the posterior into posterity, and we can fully expect to read history books which state that Nelson was equipped with a ship called the Victory which cost £75million to send to Trafalgar.

| Well, let's just hope that LTNS has not gained such influence that Mervyn King takes especial notice of Greggs when judging those inflation pressures which decide the interest rate. |

Incredible to think that Greggs tea could have such an impact on the economic happenings of our time.
Rising interest rates, defaulting mortgages, slump in the high street and all due to a simple cuppa from our local high street.
Didn't think the tea party would turn out this way. |

The price of Greggs tea is one of the factors taken into account each month when the Bank Of England meet to fix interest rates. It's one of the key economic indicators don't you know? Keeping the price of Greggs tea at an affordable levele can make or break a Prime Ministers tenure. |
