Do we need the 1 pence and 2 pence coins any more?

The notorious Greggs case is another example of prices going up in 5 pence leaps.

Why didn't Greggs put its tea up to 72 pence?

We need a campaign for everybody to pay for things at Greggs in piles of copper so that its tills get chockablock.

Well, let's just hope that LTNS has not gained such influence that Mervyn King takes especial notice of Greggs when judging those inflation pressures which decide the interest rate.

Incredible to think that Greggs tea could have such an impact on the economic happenings of our time.

Rising interest rates, defaulting mortgages, slump in the high street and all due to a simple cuppa from our local high street.

Didn't think the tea party would turn out this way.

The price of Greggs tea is one of the factors taken into account each month when the Bank Of England meet to fix interest rates. It's one of the key economic indicators don't you know? Keeping the price of Greggs tea at an affordable levele can make or break a Prime Ministers tenure.

Watch what you do in the High Street from Kemp Town to Portslade, there could be macro-economic ramifications.
The impact of this forum's tea topic is being felt in economic policy circles as we speak. Great minds are pondering the issues.

Maybe they were taking a loss all the while the real price of tea was 71p-74p and have taken that hit so that we can all enjoy cheap tea?

Freddo chocolate (the small cadbury bars with the frog)went up from 10p to 15p - a whopping 50% increase that has hit the pockets of all small children (and me) hard over recent months. This makes Greggs modest price rise look more acceptable.

The link between the two is that they both contain real milk. perhaps this is the root of the inflation?

Are the canny Northerners - where this Greggs outfit seems to have sprung from - charged 75 pence for tea up there?

After all, up there, you can get a string of terrace houses for a few hundred quid from a bloke in the pub. So I shouldn't think they'll be splashing out 75 pence on tea. Perhaps they are not so fussy about the need for real milk there?

you'd think that with all the money they save on adverstising
by secretly paying internet users
to spread lies about their cheap low prices
would enable them to have cheap low prices

but they don't
this is all a pathetic lie
and until the milk is tested independantly
i can't believe that it's real

The influential LTNS and Greggs have been invited by the Treasury to a round table discussion about a Pay as You Urn system.

(Takes cover as EDO products are hurled this way.)

The Kirkstall Road branch of Greggs in Leeds charges 75 pence for its tea, and the manageress assured me that it contains real milk.

Bur perhaps Leeds is one of the more prosperous parts of the North.

LTNS is being exposed as a broken reed. He has been peddling more misinformation.

Greggs is not a bakery. It's a reheating joint. The web site states this (though something called Bakers Oven does do baking):

"The Greggs business has a Divisional structure with central bakeries around the country each supplying the shops in their surrounding areas."

On this showing, I shouldn't be surprised if the Greggs tea is delivered from a tanker lorry and warmed up on site.

LTNS's sins have caught him out.

Greggs bake in store many products
they even make the sandwiches in store.
In house production is the key.

Tetley Quality Tea with Real Milk
Unlike Subway who give you UHT which destroys the taste of the tea.

Why does LTNS keep putting up these self-portraits?

The girl with the smile behind the counter shows great forbearance in serving him.

Greggs makes it clear on its "mission statement" about being "a great place to work" that:

" the production and distribution staff ensure the timely delivery of quality, enjoyable products."

So, there it is: the stuff is delivered, it is not made on the premises with Mrs Mopp disguising the paltry amount of cheese by throwing in a bit of lettuce - after taking her hands out of the washing-up bowl and blowing her nose.

There is going to be much scratching of heads up in the North when the Greggs number-crunchers try to work outr why there has been a drop in the figures at Brighton and Hove branches. Perhaps by then they will have wised up to LTNS's unfortunate publicity efforts.

Here is a forum somewhere, in 2003, which had a subject going on Greggs.

Are we to assume that Greggs has been encouraging its agents to get these discussions going as a form of cheap publicity? I see that somebody from Brighton says that, back then, there were no Greggs here.

Greggs is also making much of its move into Belgium. I thought that was something the German army had first call on doing?

That picture of himself which LTNS has again posted is beginning to make that one of Fanshawe look like Rock Hudson or Brad Pitt.

I think there should be a boycott of Greggs now and people support those independent shops which earn an honest crust rather than have money go to such a nefarious chain as Greggs which hires such low-stooping salesmen as LTNS.

LTNS is a man who says butter when he is talking about marg.

Well, rather than writing the huge stack of end-of-year reports that need doing I am fannying around on Photoshop making photos of LTNS. Ah, procrastination.

Yes, the sooner that LTNS is packed off to the South East Development Agency the better. We have all had enough of him here, he is a menace. At least there he will be among his own kind and they might be able to keep the lid on him.
