For all the reasons I can think of to visit London Road ...

Er ... er ... er ...

Can't really think of any.

Not even ultra-cockroach infested Greggs will tempt me with their purulent pasties, disgusting Danishes, tepid tea (with mouldering milk), stagnating sausage rolls, doleful doughnuts or bacteria-infested baguettes.

Oh ... there is Preston Park, I suppose.

Valhalla, I am coming!

Even people in Mobile Carts can go into Greggs.

What's a mobile cart? If you mean a mobility scooter, well I went into Pret a Manger with a mobility scooter and wasn't chased out of the place ... In fact they were extremely obliging and helpful and it was a very pleasant experience. Food was good too Come to think of it ... the hot chocolate was the best I've had in a food outlet here in England - excepting the hot chocolate I make at home that is.

I have never heard of a "Cart" or Scooter getting trapped in the entrance to Truffles. If it had, the Argus would have got a whole page out of the incident - and quite a few bad spellings.

As long as it is part owned only and not part run ... we're okay ... The respective ethos of the companies are incomparable I would have thought.

So in effect ... McDonalds has very little to add to the matter under discussion. It has no bearing on how good the hot chocolate was or how helpful the staff were or the fact that you can take a mobility scooter in there. It makes one wonder why they were brought up in the first place as the names of shareholders are not normally of any relevance.

Some people like to know who is the ownership.

As for Mobile Carts
Greggs have a wide open door - ideal for Mobile customers.

I would have thought that most customers are mobile ... you walk in, you walk out. I don't think that Greggs, or any other store for that matter, would have much use for permanently resident customers.

This Bold Wide Open Front sounds bliss in the winter, some really good draughts to keep the customers moving, no lingering there. Will the staff be given thick jumpers to combat the elements blowing in from London Road, Brighton, or is the heating going to be turned up with all the environmental price to pay for that?

Here is a woman who has today made a case in defence of Starbucks as a good place for coffee. Not persuaded by it.

The absence of winter from the LTNS calendar means that there is more opportunity for the London Road streak in celebration of the pasty, and perhaps he is holding back until January or February so that this does not clash with his Christmas celebrations.

It will all be followed with great interest at the Black Frog Restaurant, Greenville, Maine in the great USA.

There is a good prospect for a shop in the London Road which sells American products. That would be a very good thing for regeneration of the area.

I would have thought that many of the products sold in London road come from American manufacturers. That makes American products definitely a LOCAL concern and therefore worthy of inclusion in LOCAL news threads ...

This must be LTNS's must unpersuasive notion yet.

Why on earth are wide doors needed for customers on mobiles? These have got much smaller and nobody needs to stick their elbow out when using one. It can be held to the ear quite easily when speaking into it.

Perhaps LTNS is still using one of those great big heavy ones when he stands in Greggs and tells people to get on down fast as Danishes are on special offer?

A wide open door, eh?

All the better to attract the maximum number of wasps in the summer.

But if Greggs has the Wide Open Door, then its air conditioner will not be working efficiently. These have to operate with doors and windows shut. Therefore, by operating the Air Con in this way, Greggs is once again squandering the earth's resources, and is adding to its operating csosts - as reflected in the price rises which, in a few months. have taken the tea from 70p to 80p.

Wrong
it covers the Food areas.

Quality Tetley Tea at 80p is cheaper
than any other store on that road.
FACT.
