It is possible that Greggs website is written by LTNS.

For example, it makes this sensational revelation:

" prolonged rain or snow can make people reluctant to go out and make their usual daily purchases."

Life in corporate HQ.

I've save you typing time LT by preparing the belw post - Simply post it on every thread, you'll be sure to get that bonus from Greggs.

Go to Greggs London road. It's great! They make the best freshly baked* products products in all of the world*. They have tea for 70p* Real Tetley tea with real milk, it's no expense spared* and far superior to the say, the Ritz*.

You can access the shop on foot or a mobility scooter - IT'S THAT GOOD!

The name Greggs derives from Gregory, whose origins are taken by some to be from the Greek for flock.

The name was chosen by the firm, one assumes, because it regards its customers as a bunch of sheep.

This is much better, much more enticing than LTNS's efforts on behalf of the shop.

Those large creatures, suitably diced, can be scattered across the innards of the sandwiches, and, in winter, will be a piquant addition to the soup.

The powers-that-be oop North must be very pleased at the dynamic way in which Brighton and Hove have grasped Greggs to their hearts . Down here it is so much more complex and vibrant than a simple Leeds mumble of "a pasty and cup of 75p tea, luv."

What happened to Forfars ? Won't they complain about the one sided coverage of this forum ?

If LTNS is to regain any credibility, then the least he can do is provide a close study of the respective merits of the Greegg and Forfar brews.

Good gawds ... I know I'm in trouble when Tombstone starts talking about 'more refined' ...

Looks like that discussion would be great in a slippery wobbly topic.

Strictly speaking, the firm is called Greggs of Gosforth.

Everywhere, alas. Fat chance of finding any blue vinny in Greggs's sandwiches.

There is probably even less demand for vinny in the London Road than Portslade.

Vinny means mould, and there is a story that the hard rind of this cheese once meant that it was used for some train wheels.

Perhaps it would be more "sustainable" for B and H buses to run on vinny instead of rubber tyres? Any "tang" wafting upwards would be preferable to that of the great unwashed aboard.

All the web traffic generated by the Greggs controversy makes this piece timely.

Sales must certainly have been boosted by all those women in the eponymous Hove streets who felt it incumbent upon them to have a copy. Apparently you can't walk up Wilbury Road without hearing it blasting from an open window.

Apparently there is a bootleg version with a demo of George Harrison's original version for its famous hit:

"When life's down to the dregs
Get along to Greggs,
Where they handle you with care
And you'll be walking on air."

I reckon the other Wilburys were right to suggest a few changes to those lyrics.

All this has spilled over from the Spring Watch topic.

Sure sounds as if the joint is jumpin' over in Wilbury Road. What a come-on! It didn't need the King Alfred to put Hove on the map, the Wilburys had done so all along.

Heard that there is some dispute in America. Are they pronounced Will-breeze or Will-burries? Guess the same applies to the singular in Hove.

Which is correct, actually? Wilburry? or Wilbree?

Thought that would be the name on the sign if regular posters on this forum ever had an event at the Brighton Fringe Festival.

By the way the Greggs topic has concentrated on tea. I noticed in London Road that for 95p a range of coffee is available.
