| Alarmingly, President Obama has made Judd Gregg the Commerce secretary over there. He cannot realise the unfortunate associations the name has for us in England. Perhaps somebody at the Embassy will have a quiet word and a change will be made to this crucial appointment. |

President Obama cannot say he wasn't warned. No sooner has he appointed Judd Gregg than he has run into trouble.
If an 83p[sic] cup of tea and pasty cannot save the London Road, Brighton, it was all too much even to think they could do anything for the free world |

There is hope for the free world after all!
Judd Gregg will not become commerce secretary after all. He cannot stomach Obama's plans - there is not room for those and the pasties.
He has not yet announced whether he will try to represent St Peter's ward in Brighton to do something about the London Road. |

Greggs is doing even better now on London Road still with the best value Tea. Aldi is doing very well and soon all the Workmen for the Mega Tesco's, going in the Old Co-Op store, will be buying the Best Value Tea.

No wonder construction costs are so high if the workmen can afford to keep buying Greggs tea. The work would be done far quicker if they were fortified by a stronger tea than the thin stuff at Greggs. |

But in Western Road they have two types of tea bags, so London Road will follow there example. They will then be able to give the Builders PG Tips Tea.

There is no hope for good construction and interesting design in Brighton until the workmen can be weaned off these poor teas and educated in the ways of a good, strong, well-brewed Assam |

Mrs Builder, with some tin foil, can provide him with good sandwiches and fill a flask with Assam tea for much less than the price of Greggs. And it saves him going there and joining the queue. It's more expensive at Greggs than providing your own, superior product.
Mrs Builder can gave him a cheery wave goodbye at the front door in the morning in the happy knowledge that there will be money to spare for her to cook him a good meal to greet his return home after a fulfilling, Greggs-free day's toil. |

All ghosts are welcome. I miss Nazz and Sam... Penny, the latter who never came across to this site. Japonica was another and of course Scratcher who I suspect is still among us. Great old names imho. |

Who are these do-gooders who would stop me overdosing on Greggs pasties, yelling cholestral fat content etc into my lughole? Anyone know if they do custard doughnuts? Another little addiction I have succumbed to of late....

So pleased to see you back. I was looking to see if you were still here as japonica. I have emailed Nazz and other names that I remember, to try and tempt them to return. |

When the price of tea itself is fluctuating, why does the Greggs brew only go up in price?
They are racketeers, especially the London Road, Brighton branch. I shouldn't be surprised if they arrive each day carrying violin cases. |
