Bad food is bad food regardless of whether it comes in a nice fresh bap or not. Especially as the Greggs baps and other breads are probably baked off premises or, at best, arrive there part baked.

The London Road, Brighton has not been pulling its weight. Needs to eat more pasties.

Greggs' shares dropped 15p yesterday. They are still more than £4 below their 52-week high.

Does anybody drink wine with a Greggs pasty?

Here is a report about the way - blind tasting - that reasonably priced stuff turns out to be superior to the really pricey.

But I doubt, if there were a pasty tasting, that any of Greggs's would outscore even a bread-and-sawdust baking.

Here is a report about the growing use of leftovers in cooking. Perhaps Greggs has been pieoneering something.

Judging by that one solitary pasty I had ... I wouldn't be surprised Infinite

Ah, ha! LTNS has been obliged once again to alter the title of this thread. Greggs' tea has gone up by 3 p. So it is now even less of a bargain than was claimed for it when, not so long ago, it was 70p.

It would be interesting to have Mervyn King's view on Greggs' tea. What part does it play in his deliberations upon interest rates?
Is this price hike one of the inflationary tendencies which made him decide against lowering the Bank rate?

So there we have it, Greggs means that people have less chance of a smaller mortgage.

Why does Greggs stick with Tetley as its tea supplier?

In these times, it could put out an invitation for tenders from other tea firms to keep down the price rather than meeting every Tetley demand by putting up the retail price of its tea.

What a shameful situation just as Sir Michael Darrington is departing.

Tetley is Quality
Unlike Evil Starbucks who use their very own weak brand.

Taylors of Harrogate - which is also in the North - is much better tea. They also do a version for hard water but Greggs just takes a one-size-fits-all approach to tea-brewing (if brewing you can call it).

Apparently when Scottish food is bad. it's very bad, according to this.

There is a picture of Greggs but it is not mentioned.

However, there is reference to pies being sold in tins up there. Seems to have caused a bit of fuss.

The shelves in the shop are empty, so the other pasties have made a bolt for it while LTNS was distracted by their diversionary tactic of hiring a big one to lure him along the London Road pavement.

The pasties are evidently more cunning than one gave them credit for. The conclusion is clear. Greggs pasties contain brains.

Quite. A crate of champage, it would be understandable, but beer...

Wouldn't be surprised, though, if LTNS straps in a cup of Greggs tea on the way home, especially if he has already poured in the milk.
