Government does not have the right to spy on all it's citizens. The state is currently a far bigger threat then terrorism. Countless examples have shown that once you put these systems in place the authorities increasingly want to access them for a wider range of crimes.
This is why under new labor we have had council officials using anti-terror legislation to mount surveillance operation against parents to ensure they are in the right catchments areas.
A colleague at work was photographed putting out rubbish on the wrong day!
There are over 1,000 request to place people under surveillance everyday.
It's time for us to kick up a fuss and start fighting for our civil liberties before it's too late.

Under the Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act 2000 you won't even need a warrant to access this data.
Former Stasi officers are sick with envy. |

Atta and the Saudi Team that hit the Twin Towers used codes.
But also Attwa took flying lessons in Florida - but only wanted to learn flying straight not landings etc.
So my point is you can collect data but you still miss it like it was a Woman FBI worker with that Florida data before the attack.
While you collect all the Data, the Attack is going down at the same time.
Even London Police say they expect another attack because we are stuck in the co-illegal invasion of Iraq. |

I think it's shocking. Say you're an office manager, with a penchant for cheap pcs and pasties, and in your spare time you watch, say, tramp porn on your pc. Now the government can monitor that?
Shocking. |

Shocking.
How else would they find the good sites??
Every time I read about "Big Brother" computer spying I think of the countless first hand reports I have received from contractors and company reps about government's complete lack of savvy about computers and communications. The USA's NSA and your MI(X) may be an exception, but I feel confident that the NSA will not turn an (extremely expensive) eye on you for blasting Tesco or Wal-Mart; nor for watching badly pixilated babes or beefcake on your home PC.
It IS always good to fear governmental control however, because people in government have an alarming history of always seeking an edge…

Why not? Why are you so certain that having access to data cannot prevent terrorist attacks? OK, we have had 9/11, 7/7, Madrid, Bali etc., but think of the number of plots that have been foiled just in the UK alone. And how have the authorities managed to thwart them? By using every means possible, including data and communications surveillance. All this nonsense about "Big Brother" and "Nazis" seems to be forgetting one vital point - We are the good guys. When I say "we" I mean Western society. |
