Great to see the Aldi building being made to open in July.
Station Road over the Railway crossing. Up from where Tesco is.
It was the BMW showroom.

| I've noticed that they have a nice car park that is easy to enter from Station Road. That is important as that road can get quite busy what with the railway crossing just at the bottom and the the traffic lights leading on to the dual carriage way up the top. |

I think Aldi may have its own parking using the BMW yard area. Not sure though. |

| Up here we had 2 Aldi stores in town, one you need a car to access, the other was right in town where folks using the bus could get to it easily. This latter store has become `Home Bargains` , all sorts of good stuff and cheap rubbish too, inevitably. We still have a Lidl in town that`s scooped up all the extra business. |

Look at he riot which greeted the opening of Primark in Oxford Street.
Perhaps the Aldi in Portslade will have a similar buzz. |

Can you give us a summation of their goods and services? |

Perhaps we could just have a new shops thread where lt can list upcoming new shops, their opening dates and the great value offers they will be using to entice customers through the door.
Anyone care to speculate how much a battenburg will cost and whether they'll have a cafe that serves tea with real milk for less than 75p? |

| Well, I shall be in the queue for the grand opening ceremony - no doubt they will be giving out cheap balloons off a container ship from China - and shall report back on the quality of the TEA. |

Is Aldi gay friendly?
We'll have to wait on LT's report on that one. |

| But how do we know we can trust your judgment on the quality of their tea? For all we know you might not be able to tell the difference between tetley and tesco value tea with uht milk natch. |

| I suspect that LTNS dries out his teabags in the microwave and uses them again - that way, he can afford to buy Greggs's overpriced brew when in the London Road. |

| I'm sure, on the big opening day, LT will be the first in the queue. Clamouring to get through the doors and grasp tightly in his mitts, some great value German sausauge. |

| Is it anticipated to revolutionise the hot take-away food over there? It's a long way to go for a pie. Especially if you have to double back to St James's Street for some chillis from Taj. |

Gosh! Aldi leave nothing to chance.
Anybody who buys teabags there can make use of the "after sales helpsite".
Doubtless the highly-trained staff at the other end of the line will be able to advise on how many bags to put in a pot when making tea for four.
As it's Aldi tea, the answer is probably eight bags and three for the pot. |

How does LTNS know which end of a pasty to eat first? His geography is very poor.
The new Aldi is on Carlton Terrace, Portslade.
He has slender grasp of
life in the city. |

They have special offers on Thursdays and Sundays. I am surprised that LTNS has not announced this.
Perhaps he is busy negotiating with the West Pier Trust for a season ticket at the i360 so that he can keep an eye on boats arriving from China and dockling at Shoreham where they will disgorge more plastic items to sell at Aldi and he can be first in the queue. |

| The disabled car park spaces are rather a way away from the store because of the layout of the carpark. Went there yesterday as I was in the area to see my daughter. It was very light and bright but some of the aisles were difficult to negotiate as they had huge trolleys being used by staff restocking the shelves. |
