| Blondie is quite a bird fancier ... he has in the past had numerous pictures of his various birds posted on the forums. The favourite being one particular bird whom he has called Cookie. I was just trying to say, in a round-about-way, and rather unsuccessfully it seems that a little bird told him ... that's all. |

If I might clarify a misunderstanding, A "LITTLE BIRD" didn't tell me anything, it was something read on the 'grapevine' and was not commented on by me, or passed on to anyone by me, BECAUSE it was obviously a rumour from the Argus Forum to which I do not subscribe, but I read. However it didn't hurt to let Leticia know about it when she popped up.
"Kookie" spelt with a 'K' not 'C' is the tame Kookaburra that became the family pet. He, - I think but not sure as plumage is identical in both sexes. - along with his four siblings kept the Butcher birds in line. Kookaburra [ dacelo novaeguineae ] also known as the 'Laughing Jackass' is of the kingfisher family and a native of Australia.
Leticia, whilst I never read your first book, I wish you well with the new one and trust it won't be long until you are back on form.

| Sorry Blondie ... both for the spelling mistake and for mistakenly referring to Kookie as a butcher-bird. |

I have found this a fascinating little post. Firstly, I'm 100% supportive of you, Letitcia, (although I'd never heard of you before this) and delighted you've 'seen off' those who would denigrate you). You must be an amazing person -- and if clients are happy to part with £600 for a night with you, you must indeed be something special. (Both you and your clients are well out of my league. Even in my youthful days, I'd never have been able to cope with that level of 'performance' ... and certainly never had that sort of cash to hand over.)
Again, in my younger days I never paid for the sensual pleasures of life and anyway was never particularly a 'star' in that area, but on arriving in the UK in the early 1950s, worked for several years on the London buses, route 19. So I used to take lots of the working girls to work (around Piccadilly) and got to know several, just chatting on the journey. They were always cracking personalities and it was one of the highlights of being a London bus conductor. A few years later, being a 'political person', I met up with CLR James and his wife Selma, who (as I'm sure you know) later became a bit of a celebrity fighting for the rights of working girls.
It's an area where very little progress seems to have been made --- and doesn't warrant the headlines much. But it's great to have you on the forum, Letitcia (and it would be interesting to know to origin of that name -- even though, no doubt the answer will prove to be boringly trivial.
A spin off has been the stuff relating to BLONDIE and his birds. There is a special part in my memories related to kookaburras; I spent my childhood years on a small farm in the Adelaide hills. Alongside the homestead was a row of almond trees and I was woken every morning by the kookaburras. In fact, it's the most vivid single memory of my childhood. (Sorry, I know this has nothing to do with you, Letiticia!)

At least one good thing has come of this. LT will be reading this and be DYING to post, but can't. I can see him climbing the walls of his victorian workhouse now, whilst children as young as 6 stitch Gucci labels onto wallets for him.
Re: Tax. Skipping it is the best, and why not? Have you seen what utter crimes hedge funds get away with tax wise? They're hard done by to pay 10%. They're the people who should be pursued, end of. |

Ah, NE, always one of my favourite posters. Yes, the discrimination is quite breathtaking....as a white, middleaged man owing multi millions (with Swiss bank accounts) i would be issued an amnesty and the very merest of patted wrist. This was a 'crushing a butterfly on a wheel' scenario. As many of my wonderful friends have opined: 'Crumbs, what on EARTH have you done to enrage them so??' I am buggered if i know. L |

'Bloudy hell' as Del boy would say, that was the song on my 'playlist' on the morn of the start of my trial. Along with, some angry: Rage against the Machine, and then for a bit of levity: Tenacious D, rounding off with Kevin Bloody Wilson. My Barrister and myself sang a few bars together of the KBW classic: 'Do yer f*ck on first dates, does yer dad own a brewery..' in the conference room/corridor (i hope nobody heard us) V important to have a leagle beagle who likes the same music!!!
As for conspiracy theory, here is one for you: On a google search, if one wrote my cilvilian name, or even Letitcia, it led to the two Argus stories and news feeds around the world, with the titles, TAXING TIME FOR BRIGHTON SEX STAR and HOOKER DODGES TAX FRAUD (The argus at its finest). Now they have all mysteriously disappeared. Any techie out there that can explain?? |

I thought maybe it was because i was found not guilty. When i get myself well, i think i may have to take an ad out in the Argus for a respectable bloomin' job. L |
