Last paragraph of the above item. In hindsight, it would have been interesting to see if the situation in Zimbabwe would have reached its present level if he had not retired after his first term in office. Come to that the situation in the rest of Africa might have taken a different turn altogether.

Sure. You are all happy now... I have to lock my family up every night now due to increased terrorist threat. We all know that Mandela was just waiting for the chance to attack my wife and children whilst they slept. I cannot believe he was not swept aboard a private jet, “water boarded", taken to a "safe house" in Italy, and made to confess to his heinous crimes..

The idea of a great black hope for Africa is old hat. Try Lumumba. Or Kenyatta. Nkrumah. Obote. Idi. Nyrere. Banda. I could go on.

Which reminds me I've been scanning some old negatives of the sudan and googlig as I go along. This caught my eye. Is this, I wondered, the obiter dicta of our online age.

Scandinavian management, eh?

Personally I don't trust vikings, look at their heritage:

I love that skit. Doesn't seem to age. Which reminds me, is there a youtube for music? You once mentioned you like English pastoral music and it occured to me that the youtube approach works well if I wanted you to hear a Butterworth Idyll for example. Can youtube be used for sound alone?

Sorry if off topic all.

Sure just switch off your monitor. Caution: this may not work as expected if your speakers run through your monitor.

Alternatively try http://songza.com/
