Had a walk through Woodvale Cemetery today, what a beautiful peacefully place that is.
Lovely woodland walk at the top with a sensory garden complete with a resident cat, as you make your way to the Lewes road gate you come across the Gothic style of the Victorian and Edwardian cemeteries.
Plenty of birds and other wild life, quite enjoyable.....

long time no see

There's quite a good tour of the cemetery as part of the Brighton Festival - see http://www.brightonfestivalfringe.org.uk/listings/tours/listing.asp?ev=424&ed=3357

Fascinating places the cementeries to find introspection and solitude. I passed through the gates of Woodvale cementery so many times, telling myself I may pay a visit, but always I thought it will look odd when carring a baby.

Woodvale is a good peaceful place for a walk.
If you are able get to the top of Bear road and over to Woodingdean, out towards the masts and once past the travellers there is a nature reserve and more good open countryside.
Real AONB.

Thankyou Mim. Am not concentrating too well as keeping one eye on chicken stew supper and the other on here. My menfolk have declared the kitchen an AONB...hinting, I think.
