Where did the ubiquitous picture of LTNS come from? Isn't he in fact the 85-year-old kidnapped by fake police when he was out looking for bargains at Lidl?

I've wondered for a long time what LTNS looks like. I have only managed to attend 1 forum do (several years ago now) so I have met a few of the regulars, but as far as I know nobody has ever (knowingly) seen LTNS. When I was originally looking for an image to sum him up I tried an Indian guru/swarmi once, but then the image of him sitting at his keyboard, wearing a large hat made out of tin foil (to stop EvilTescoBlairTrampBushClanAngryCat from reading his brainwaves) sprung to mind and, doing a Google Image search, I found the photo I now use. There is something about the determined jaw, the raised reprimanding finger and the twinkle of utter insanity in the eyes that just oozes LTNSity to me. The addition of angry cat came about by accident, but I like the idea of LTNS toddling off down to the corner shop to pick up a can of Whiskas.

Who knows, maybe LTNS is a wacky girl in her early 20s, but the grumpy, eccentric character in the photo seems more LTNSy.

Oh, and by the way, about my comments in this posting ...

No, I feel sure that LTNS is very much one for lugging back a 12-pack of cat food at a bargain price from a far-flung store.

That IS good news . . .I can just see it, thousands of smokers buying their ciggies, looking at the message on the packet and saying"Oh Gosh! Crikey! I never realised that smoking was bad for you! I will throw my cigatettes away forthwith, never smoke again and become a clean, wholesome health nazi"

I imagine it will be something like that . . .

Smoke all you want but NOT in other peoples face.
This is a Common Sense Health Issue.

You can spot a pathetic Near Dead Rotten Smoker
they have trouble getting a breath
and they carry on killing themselves - puffing that TOXIC smoke away.

So smoking should be in a strop (does the moderator-imposed editing work on this thread, too, I wonder - does this say "ba nned" or "in a strop")?

Young kids do not read adverts unless they are for some new fangled electronic game or something.

Or the next door neighbour. So, are you suggesting we all stop doing adult things just in case the little oiks copy us? Should we perhaps limit our sphere of activity to the level appropriate for 6 year olds? Stop imbibing alcohol because kids might copy. Cease watching movies above a universal of PG rating? Desist from reading books with words of more then one syllable? And never cross the road unless there is an adult there to hold our hand?

Smoking In front of young kids is Criminal , in my view.

It is now proven that Younger Smokers
get Ill faster now.

Tombstone should have a Smoking Room
away from his Grand Children, if possible.

I have been toying with the idea of returning to the UK in a few months (for the purpose of study) but the thought of going from a place where I pay about 57p for a packet of cigarrettes to the UK where they cost ... well ... I don't know, how much do they cost nowadays ... anyway, the thought of having to pay an exhorbitant amount for a smoke will mean having to quit, I suppose.
