They are not going to ban meat, only encourage people to eat less. That is a good idea really.

Here is the telephone line in which you can report smokers to the authorities on - 0800 587 166

Smokers will then have to leave the pub or risk a fine.

I'm all for the ban on smoking in public places, but setting up a "hotline" for sneaks and tattle-tales is just ludicrous. It's a horrible, horrible idea. Smokers will grumble but they will go outside to smoke. However, I can see the likes of moon, fanatic gleam in their eyes, clutching mobile phones in their sweaty paws, going on a pub crawl with nostrils a-quiver, trembling with whippet-like intensity at the thought of being able to dial 0800 587 166 (probably already commited to memory and speed-dial) and BRING THE WRONGDOER TO JUSTICE.

GAK!!

Oh come on, give poor old moon a break. It's only natural he'd want to be phoning the sneaks hotline having been grassed up on the benefits cheat hotline umpteen times.

What really sickens me is that people are not prepared to stand witness in court but are more then willing to phone anonymous 'sneak' phonelines.

Many non-smokers will face threatening and rude behavior if they ask chav smokers to stop. This helpline allows justice to prevail.
