I came back into things only very recently, and so had no idea what Alan was about, but much becomes clear now, if he was also George the Dog. Proper saddo he was.

Funny, the first, and only, time I ever met Alan, I quite liked him; wouldn't have offered him a lift otherwise. He must have been taking his medication that night.

I just tried the Argus forum,I`d `bookmarked` the Everything Else board for a quick link. I notice folks have posted there today, but when I tried to open a topic it said Service Unavailable. Oh well, there were some great old threads on the Argus, but I do feel safer on this one, so if some stuff can be salvaged, and transferred here, fine - if it can`t, let`s move on and start some just as good on here. Which poses a question. Where would Dingo`s Sharing Humour go?

That is the main thing Fluffy, people should be able to feel safe to be themselves. By all means feel free to discuss but not harass ... What was it SteveJack used to say ... play the ball not the player

Oh and hopefully Dingo will start another Humour thread here. I suppose someone could download screen shots and then load them up here but there are so many other posters involved, we might get into problems with that ... though possibly it may be claimed that being on an open forum they have become part of the 'public domain'.

Dingo, if Pel can`t do this thing, maybe you can retrace some that you`ve cut&pasted or even, if you`ve revisited them often you might remember some well enough to post again here.

We'd better be quick about re-registering our usernames. The last time that happened to me was on the now defunct Norfolk Now forum, which had become Braindead infested. Unfortunately, they were quicker than many of us and managed to snap up many of the regulars' usernames, including mine.

"Norfolk Now" had Argus-like moderation, but when it transformed into EDP24 all posts were (and still are) moderated before they appear.

Unfortunately, that can mean many hours passing until posts appear. It does, though, encourage deep and involved debate, while the Argus instant-post format encourages short, quick responses. One of the reasons so many of my posts are so long is because I was used to the EDP24 "involved" style, and I find it very hard to shake off.

However, we undertsand that EDP24 is going to move to unmoderated forums - something I think they'll quickly regret.

Quick shorter responses are better.
Long drawn out replies tend to get tedious, however factual they may be.

I suppose a mixture of responses is possibly having the best of two worlds. Sometimes a quick response is appropriate and other times, a longer more factual response is the right way.

Miriam how does Alan know about your new forum?

Or is he taking a guess.

He won't last long Fluffy. Posters were generally very quick to pick up on his new ID and this forum has an active admin.

I don't bother even looking at the Argus Forums anymore. Surely if people stop posting on it wont this Alan idiot get bored talking to himself and go away?

The Problem with Alan
is he is happy to post hundreds of threads
in one go.

You can tell when he is talking to himself
always over a fight set up.

My Concern is what happens if he gets on here
because he is such a Git now
he sets up many user names ahead of posting.

Don't worry LTNS, admin is fully aware of Alan and his various habits. There are four moderators as well as admin on this site ... they will not let him get the foothold he was allowed to get at the Argus.
