Well, the way I understand it, the new forum will be an integrated part of the Argus Website. The claim is that this will mean that they will have more control over the blocking of IS P's for instance. Personally I am not sure that it will work as effectively as they reckon it will as they are not really taking into account the notion of 'Dynamic' IS P's ... I suppose that there could be an insistence that all registrations are from a static IS-P address - so no Yahoo or Hotmail addresses for instance. However that would mean that only people with their own PC could register which I personally think is not really acceptable. After all, there are any number of reasons people will chose to use a 'web-mail' email account to register on a forum with.

In short Dingo, I really do not think that any forums could survive the sort of sustained infiltration such as Oxfordshire and the Argus forums have had to content with for any length of time without a clear policy and active Admin. I am also not confident that the re-vamped forums would be any safer in the long run but ... hope spring eternal.

That will never
work.
Unless like this better Forum,
they do not send out endless
Emails about posts & replys.

No way would I allow my own pop3
to get endless posts I do not want in the first place.

I am on a another legal forum where you can get mail alerts. As you say LTNS it is annoying as the default choice is for alerts. They can be turned off though. To make it worse I gave an email address that sends me a text when mail is received. That's technology for you.

In the odd moments when I can see it, I read in the Israel v England thread that the Argus forums are being closed down. Does that mean permanently, or temporarily pending reincarnation in a new form?

(Sorry if I haven't been paying attention.)

Greetings all. This forum looks promising if what I'm reading about moderators and admin means they can keep Alan and the bnp morons out. Congratulations to the site organisers. Perhaps you'd consider taking over the Argus newspaper too.

Hiya Geoffrey ... well, they certainly seem on the ball from what I have seen so far.

Hi Geoff,
another great thing on this Updated Version Site
if you click last Reply it will go direct
on whatever page it is.

As for the Argus
'if' they set up a Modern one with No Yahoo etc
emails to be used,
then they will go down.

Hello Miriam. It will be interesting to see if the site develops into the thriving discussion that once inhabited the Argus forum. I hope that objective posts or even threads about the bnp will be permitted, though, so that posters can comment on them as they would on any other minor but dangerous cult.

Hello LT. Where's 'last reply' located?

It doesn't seem to work very well. I posted TWO Threads as a continuation of those that were on the previous Forums and they have been deleted by the "Administrator" . Is this the furure of the new Forums???

So...............they had full headings and were referred to PART III. What's wrong with that? They were also SELF EXPLANATORY.

I think it is to stop the spam posters that would register with a forum and then send out spam email to all the members. If you have received an email from livewire, surely you can just press 'reply'?

Dr Chou En Ginsberg also provided a link to contacts here. You'll find it on his first post.
