There are so many of these free newspapers and magazines in Brighton and Hove now that I have stopped picking them up. They spread themselves so thinly, with every opening of a new cafe treated as a major event.
Would they not do better to pool their resources and come up with a much-needed rival to the Argus, that paper we no longer buy as it is so lacking in the hard-hitting news for which any self-respecting journalist - or one with an eye on a career - should have a continual hunger.
As things stand, with the ads moving to the web, it is in no position to fight its corner, and that leaves room for a real alternative.
The Argus should have been creating something so that people feel impelled to say, "have you seen the Argus today?" But they do not.
A really good local paper would be a great thing to have. |

Don't you realise that in the Brighton of today as conceived by those who cast the 'city vision', a new cafe opening IS a major event. Well the biggest major event since the free bubbly was passed around at the last shop opening.

| I used to think it was a pity our local evening paper didn`t have a forum. Now, I think maybe it`s just as well! It DOES do pretty well at local news and some major national news bits too. |

It depends on which element of the PLO you are talking about.
The Chav PLO would only be able to wave thongs or G-strings!
Themore reserved Aldi PLO would wave their Y-fronts but then the would be exposed to the wind of change! |

| I think we should think of a prong formation ... you could have the WhiLF's (Whitehawk Liberation Front) wave g-strings and thongs from their barricades on Lidl's counters and the PLO could stick to Y-fronts from Aldi. |
