Merely repeating what you say to other posters when they accidentally post a double thread LTNS.

Oh the fun and games. Ahmadinejad in Manhatten. A classic line from his speech at Columbia University:

"In Iran we don't have homosexuals like in your country," he told a questioner who accused his government of executing gay people. "In Iran we do not have this phenomenon. I don't know who has told you that we have it."

Well, if you have executed them all, of course you don't:

Still, his comments denying the holocaust and threatening to wipe Israel off the map have gone down well with a certain segment of the population:

Well, quite.

Valhalla, I am coming!

Juan Cole, a University of Michigan Professor of Modern Middle East and South Asian History, translates the Persian phrase as:

The Imam said that this regime occupying Jerusalem (een rezhim-e eshghalgar-e qods) must [vanish from] the page of time (bayad az safheh-ye ruzgar mahv shavad).

According to Cole, "Ahmadinejad did not say he was going to 'wipe Israel off the map' because no such idiom exists in Persian" and "He did say he hoped its regime, i.e., a Jewish-Zionist state occupying Jerusalem, would collapse."

If something must vanish from the page of time then not only are we looking at the end of something but that shat something must be obliterated. To split semantic hairs is one thing but anyone with modicum of cross linguistic awareness would realise that though the semantic content may not be directly translatable, the gist is.

Well, my thoughts are that these Israel bashing speeches go down well with the home audiences but it's a far cry from "Come on lads, up you get, lets make it happen!".

They wouldn't dare. Rhetoric mumblings of a flash in the pan popularist, who is becoming less popular. US aggression will reverse that wane. If left alone, Iranian political factions will bring down their current leaders. As soon as bombs are dropped on Tehran, Ahmed-Dinner-Jacket will be the hero of the day.

In other news - Osama Bin Laden was best mates with Saddam who had lots of WMDs in 2003... expect more media frenzy telling us how evil Iran is and how Israel can be attacked in 45 seconds.

God. Don't start giving me pats on the back.

You paint a picture which is just as limited. You harm the credibility of the issues by talking exclusively of Evil-bush-blair-labour-walmart-US. A deeply naive view point, purely because of who you don't mention. You seem to forget that the Conservatives are as big a c**ts as Labour. You exclude the other supermarket chains and you exclude all of the other world players who are c**ts too.

Oh lord yes, I agree with you 100% ... it is something though most people tend to forget when they listen to speeches from the middle east. They are intended more for the home audience then the rest of the world.

The In Depth Talking you want
is not needed on this Local Forum.
Look at the amount of Threads Miriam Binder does
that never get a Reply.
Typical Example : http://livewire.forumco.com/topic~TOPIC_ID~661.asp
If you go In Depth too much
folks move on.

Talking Direct about a Single Subject
is something you H.
need to return to.

A cheesemaker is a person who makes cheese. The cheesemaking process is very old and dates back some 5,500 years. Archaeological evidence exists of cheesemaking being carried out within the societies of the ancient Egyptian civilizations.

The irony is that his evil Bush doesn't like talking or reading in depth either. In many ways LTNS is very similar to Bush. They both have an equal command of reality.

I think you have hit the nail on the head there Hambag ... Like Shrubby, LTNS dreads having to actually think for himself. He much prefers the trite banalities of preconceived ideas as expressed by his stock phrases.

Maybe that is why LTNS hates Shrubby so much. Shrubby is renown world wide and all LTNS can claim is to be the arbitrary ruler of a small forum.
