Not nice being told after decades of service you can't retire wih a pension at 60, you will have to wait until 65 and get a greatly reduced pension. The great pensions mugging is still going on.......... |

True but that goes across the board into every Industry, and they are not on a Evil Strike like our Postmen. |

Why evil LTNS? After all you did not reckon that eco terrorists that prevented people from going about their lawful business where evil. You in fact thought they were innocuous ... judging by your response to the thread raised by FUBAR |

OK, 5 Million Pounds has been lost by small companys that use Royal Mail. Some of those Companys will go under because due to even more Evil Strikes across all sections (next week). Not every company can afford DHL etc, it can make them lose money.
They have No Valid reason to strike. |

They haven't? So their managers have their pensions assured and the postal workers can go hang? |

That is as maybe ... Royal Mail however does do pensions, evidently and they have assured the pensions for the managers so, the question still stands LTNS ...

The Question will stand for ever.
They have No Funds for that venture.
Best thing to do now is break Royal Mail up because the Postmen are never going to have common ground. And their strikes changes Nothing from now.

| Royal Mail is a company that has been running for approximately 300 years. So ... how would you propose 'breaking up' the Royal Mail? |

Plans are drawn up. The whole market place is changing even they change by Cutting Costs.
It is like some Mail now says on it TNT, which Royal Mail delivers. And the Rest TNT does. |

So, in effect Royal Mail has already been 'broken up'. So how would you suggest we break it up any further? |

No it has not, because Royal Mail has a cut in that deal.
The plans to break it up are not out, yet.
They have to change by cutting costs.
More Post Offices will be closed soon as New Labour does not care about the Public Service they give to millions. |

So ... I repeat. Are you saying that the government should subsidise post offices?
Or let me put this more plainly ... are you saying that the government should subsidise a private company? |

I support the postal strike even though it niggles me that I have had no post(am waiting for my bday cards money money money )if you have a contract and your employer breaks or tries to amend it then you have the right to react, bloudy hell the post "persons" go out in rain hail and snow, for a pittance if they finish thier round early due to being more diligent then let them go home (with pay)and if for some reason they have to do overtime then pay them a reasonable rate!Lt would you work for nothing?thought not |

This ain't about Pay. Del - you are wrong.
And Yes Miriam pathetic Corrupt New Labour should pay for Post Offices to keep them going. And use the Corrupt Iraq War Money for a better UK project. Even fit them within Tesco Express stores to keep them in the area. Like the WH. Smiths -Post Offices co-deal.
Or More Votes they will never ever get.

So you are saying that the Royal Mail should outsource post offices on the one hand and on the other that the government should subsidise the private company to outsource? |

Which does not answer the question regarding how far the government should be expected to go in subsidising private companies. |
