That beacon of civilization in Portslade, the Stanley Arms, has again won CAMRA's Southdowns top prize.
It is in Wolseley Road.

Yes, it's a hike from here in Kemp Town - but it's convenient for our councillor Craig Turton who lives near it. |

Today's Argus has a report about the terrifying events at the Whistlestop Inn in Station Road, Portslade. Even the bouncers hurl people through glass windows, and, at the drop of a hat, all the regulars pile into a brawl. The Council is going to have it shut down completely.
There would not be such scenes if it were a branch of Truffles.
Thank heavens for the Stanley Arms!

Don't forget that from Friday to Sunday there is another Beer Festival at the Stanley Arms in Wolsley Road, Portslade. |
